NLU Mumbai launched its website, shifted to a new temporary campus and closed registration for its June 2015 entrance exam.

NLU Mumbai has launched its website, shifted to a new temporary campus and closed registration for its June 2015 entrance exam.

According to the admission announcement on nlumumbai.edu.in, NLUM was accepting online registration for its 7 June 2015 entrance exam until 14 May 2015.

India’s newest NLU, which was facing controversy due to being forced to seek a temporary campus in Jogeshwari, will begin classes for the 2015-16 academic year now from its new temporary campus at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Deonar, Mumbai.

The law school will be offering admission to its BALLB (Hons) program, BComLLB (Hons) program and its one-year LLM program with specialisation in Legal Pedagogy and Research, with 25 general category seats available in the LLB programs and four general category seats available in the LLM program.

NLUM VC Prof Bhawani Prasad Panda was not reachable for comment at the time of going to press.

I am not surprised... Mumbai and its space crunch....I would pray for the parents who will have to pay an arm and a leg to complete their kid's education in a NLU in Mumbai.

Money is an issue no? NLU D got crores and crores from Sheila Dikshit; Maharashtra is trying to start three NLSes as far as I'm aware and looking at the state of GLC, funding is a serious issue...

It seems as if this NLU was opened for the heck of it. They should've sorted out all the issues first and then commenced the session. A year later wouldn't have been so painful.

It was mumbai .the top metro city of india ,it was new but after 5 year the college has been ranked in tier 1 . The facility was good because tops law firms are in delhi and mumbai and the internship is not an issue .

NLU mumbai should have got good faculty. Seems they are planning to take faculty on contract
with consolidated payment. So they have closed entry for quality faculty who would expect good
pay bugs with regular service.

Heard that Maharastra government is funding NLU mumbai completely. But politics have already begun in the university and they do not want to have good faculty want only slaves who cannot get employment anywhere else and accept whatever is paid. At the end of the day legal education suffers.

In most of the law schools, no quality and good faculties are encouraged. current administration in law schools curbing good faculties by going for arranging adhoc faculties.
NLS bangalore has got atleast a dozen adchoc faculties and has not made any full time appointments since a decade. For adhoc appointments unqualified candidates are taken which
grossly violates UGC norms. At the end of the day students are suffering and eligible faculties are shown red door. God save law schools
