[[Nalsar Hyderabad]] is now 7 points ahead of [[NUJS Kolkata]] in the Mooting Premier League, after a packed mooting Sunday including [[GNLU International Moot Court Competition]] (GIMC), the [[DM Harish Memorial Government Law College International Moot Court Competition|GLC Mumbai DM Harish Moot]] won by [[GNLU Gandhinagar]], the [[ULC Bangalore Moot]] and the [[Surana Corporate Moot]].

DM Harish – Elite Class

At DM Harish, which saw a record 13 international teams and 15 domestic teams take part and was exclusively blogged live by Legally India’s Team MPL yesterday, GNLU’s team triumphed over [[RGNUL Patiala]] in the finals, after the teams had dispatched the University of Melbourne and [[NLU Delhi]] in the semi-finals of this Elite Class tier 3 moot. Having also picked up points at Saturday’s BCI moot for best memorandum and best male speaker, GNLU managed to climb to seventh position in the MPL, six points behind [[NLIU Bhopal]] and [[ILS Pune]] in tied fifth spot with 57 points.

At DM Harish best memorial was picked up by [[GLC Mumbai]], while NLSIU Bangalore won the best researcher prize. Washington’s Howard University collected the best speaker award.

GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC) – National Challenger

At the Tier 4 National Challenger GIMC, Nalsar took 8 points in MPL for the lead from NUJS after being beaten by George Washington University (GWU) in the finals, with GWU speaker Jeremiah Newhall winning the best speaker award. NLSIU and NLU Jodhpur won 4 MPL points for making it to the semis and RMLNLU Lucknow won best memorial for eight points.

Newhall said: “We worked hard to qualify in our University intra moot to come here. The others teams were very good and the finals was very close.” He added that he was a big fan of Pav Bhaji and and Indian hospitality and organization of the moot.

Nalsar’s Chitra Rentala won the best speaker in the final round and praised the quality of the judges but said that the moot problem involved so many aspects that could not be put out in 20 minutes. “The organization of the moot was phenomenal but for the punctuality,” she said. She said she was excited at hearing their performance would put Nalsar at the top of the MPL standings: “This is my last moot and its great to know that I am signing off with a good note.”

Surana Corporate Moot - National Challenger

At the Surana Corporate Moot held at JSS Law College Mysore, NLU Jodhpur bagged the win for best team and RMLNLU Lucknow got the runner-up citation for 10 and 5 points respectively. NLU Jodhpur which came fourth in last year’s MPL is now in the 11^th position, with RMLNLU in 15^th.

ILS Pune and School of law, Christ University were semi-finalists for four points, with Karnisingh Rajora from Nuals Kochi winning best speaker and best memorial went to ILS Pune for eight points each, leaving ILS in a strong fifth place. JSS student convenor Himendra Karantik Simha confirmed the results.

ULC Bangalore – Tier 5

At ULC Bangalore results UILS Punjab won best team for 10 points, followed by CMR Law College Bangalore for 5 points. NLIU Bhopal and GLC Ernakulam were in the semi-finals for three points each, while HNLU Raipur won both best researcher and best memorial for a total of 10 points propelling it to eighth position in the MPL. Bishen Jeswant from NLIU Bhopal won best overall speaker for five points putting Bhopal into tied fifth spot with ILS.
