[[NLSIU Bangalore]] added fifteen points to its kitty as the fourth team to complete an MPL century after winning the [[ISRO National Funding Round to Manfred Lachs Space Moot| National Funding Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot]] on Sunday, beating arch rivals [[Nalsar Hyderabad]] in the finals.

NLSIU is now placed fourth with 101 points, sixty-nine points behind current MPL toppers Nalsar, which continued its dominance as Jagdish Menezes won the best speaker award. Nalsar took home sixteen points from this Tier 4 moot in the MPL 2 sponsored by Allen & Overy.
[[RMLNLU Lucknow]] and [[Amity Law School]] finished semifinalists in the moot.
Anunaya Mehta, the Convenor of the Moot Court Society at NLSIU Bangalore confirmed the results and said that fourteen teams from across the country participated in the moot. He also said that the moot did not have a best memorandum award as the rules of the [[Manfred Lachs Space Moot Court Competition Sydney Rounds|Asia Pacific Rounds of the Manfred Lachs moot]] prohibit the declaration of memorandum marks this year. That is because from this year only a maximum of 20 teams can participate in the Asia Pacific rounds and teams are selected from each country based on the quality of their memorandum.
The moot was organized by NLS Bangalore and funded by the Indian Space Research Organization. The final rounds were judged by Prof. V. S. Mani, Prof. Ashfaq and Ms. Ranjana Kaul. The NLSIU Bangalore team consisted of Soujanya Sankaran, Dheer Bhatnagar and Divyanshu Agarwal, whereas the Nalsar team had Priyanka Vora, Jagdish Menezes and Ridhi Kabira.
Nalsar mooter and best oralist Jagdish Menezes spoke to Legally India and said that the moot was of a high quality and saw some extremely good competition. “There were good judges all throughout. The final rounds could have gone either way.” He also highlighted on the importance of funding mooters in India. “Funding is a big issue for mooting teams like us. It is important that organisations around the country take the initiative for funding”, he said.
NLS Speaker Dheer Bhatnagar said that that their win was fantastic and the feeling is yet to sink in. “There were excellent teams right from the quarters. The benches for the semis and finals were amazing.”
Being his first moot, he said that he was quite excited and enjoyed the experience: “We played at our home ground but there were a lot of butterflies in my stomach.” He also praised the team researcher Divyanshu and said that the team would not have won without his tremendous effort.
Last year NLSIU failed to defend its Manfred Lachs title, losing to Singapore in the finals.
Nalsar now towers more than 50 points above NUJS Kolkata in the MPL 2 scoreboard, after also having come runners-up in the Leiden-Sarin Air Moot.

How does it feel to win the first moot of the season? Well unless you count Rizvi where your illustrious fifth years battled it out.
This moot should be solely organised by ISRO or else there should be a north and south round.

This was written (or so he says) by a participant in the moot who claims to have seen both NLS and NALSAR battle it out, not by some Nalsar student.

NLUD and NUJS make it to advance rounds. NLUD had a a 4-0 score and NUJS 3-1 in prelims.
Both NALSAR and ILS got out in prelims.
Congratulations, Surana, on a brilliant, a wonderful, an outstanding, a magnificent job of organising the Jessup Nationals.

please clarify asap before results are out, so that there are no allegations of bias.
After internal discussions, it has been decided that the top 30 team memorials and the top 100 individual oralists will get points under the 'honorable mentions/other equivalent awards' category for the Jessup Moot.
For Vis Vienna and Hong Kong, all Honorable mentions will get points under the aforesaid category.
We will be putting out the Jessup story after the Official results are out.
