As we would have alerted our premium subscribers on Friday when we broke the news, something actually Big and Important has happened for the first time in ages on the liberalisation front.

What I think is most surprising about the new BCI draft rules is that they exist at all: even getting the BCI to the negotiating table should be counted as a coup for the government.

Now this is very unlike me but I’m going to stick my neck out and make some predictions now (and am prepared to get it horribly wrong, but that’s where the fun comes in!).

You should do a story on the poor state of faculty at Indian law schools. You should interview NLS alumni teaching abroad, like Umakant.

I really really really want to subscribe (apart from you'll keeping on censoring my genuine comments. haha!) Anyway, LI does encourage people to post, the one edited on RDA was shady though! Nothing wrong was written (there was worse written on AMSS/CAM/SAM/Luthra posts which were not edited) Apart from that, LI's lowest band is some 100 bucks lower than my cable charges [with some 200-300 channels excluding HD and the second band includes ALL HD channels at lower the second band cost. Last Band (partner) is more expensive than Netflix for a month!!!! I would have subscribed long back, but well, apart from the freebies to replies to BCI (some lawyers from top firms may not have the time to give you replies, but top firm lawyers do not need freebies), students cannot afford this too. Lawyers would rather go for Tata Sky than local cable operators at same cost being paid to LI and may subscribe to Netflix!!! You are charging like some Indian firms f**k foreign clients!! Try to draw a balance between student crowd and top lawyers, not that lawyers feel pathetic paying to LI more than Netflix for info they may almost know and not letting students know the legal market. What I am trying to explain is that the cost to subscribe for LI is worse than major entertainment. Law is a small community and everyone knows what is happening. Giving LI its due some may wish to know things earlier for their benefit (may be apply and so pay for that info, but yes lesser than stupid paid hr's charge) I wish I could speak to you'll on it. But the Phantom cannot be found!! He appears and disappears!!!

Best of luck to LI and all Lawyers, I just may subscribe though many others will not, just rethink the strategy. Kian may reply to me here, I will reply.. just as he does.
