CLAT ditches controversial plan for Hindi law school admissions test: Date set for 10 May, brochure tomorrow

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2015, scheduled to be held on 10 May, will not be held in Hindi but will be conducted on a computer.

CLAT 2015 convenor RMLNLU Lucknow, under whose leadership the CLAT core committee has done away with the pen-and-paper version of the entrance exam, had also controversially proposed that the question paper carry Hindi translations of originally English-worded questions.

RMLNLU vice chancellor Gurdip Singh told Legally India that the core committee has rejected this proposal and there would be no regional language translation of any questions in the CLAT question paper.

He added that the CLAT 2015 brochure was due to be released tomorrow.

there is wrong map of India on CLAT notification published by RMLNLU in TOI dated 26 Dec.
Dout whether RML would be able to manage CLAT ??

It's not disasters for lawyers careers but for persons belongs to remote area. No one can measure someone's intellect or wisdom on grounds of any particular language. Student is going to spend a half of decade of his life in university. And university has the faculties to make proficient in English-language rather to put away to those students to get the opportunity to admit and built careear in legal sector.
It's Hippocratic attitude and pseudo intellectualism of elite class.

I agree with your views. But there are many students living in remote parts form whom even Hindia is alien as English. Having an examination in English and Hindi would further reducer their chances. therefore till we have a system where exams are conducted in all the scheduled languages, we cannot give preference to only Hindi.
