Indus, AZB, Samvad & others sit baby e-tailer FirstCry's $26m funding by Valiant

Induslaw advised baby care products e-tailer FirstCry in raising $26m from San Francisco-based hedge fund Valiant Capital Partners (which was advised by AZB & Partners) and from existing investors IDG Ventures India, Ventex Venture Holdings and SAIF Partners, which were also advised by Indus and Samvad.

Indus Bangalore partner Suneeth Katarki, senior associate Winnie Shekhar and associate Priyanka Chandrashekhar acted for FirstCry and the existing investors.

IDG Ventures India drafted in Samvad Partners partner Neela Badami and associate Prateek Batra on certain elements of the deal, including due diligence.

AZB Mumbai partner Shuva Mandal and associates Ashutosh Narang and Divya Mundra, acted for Valiant, with Richards Kibbe & Orbe New York partners Eric O’Meara and Catherine Turgeon.

Pune-based BrainBees Solutions, which owns FirstCry, has now raised $59m, taking into account this deal and its January 2014 funding of $15m by Vertex, reported Economic Times.
