Indus, NDA act on $55m Samunnati Financial Series D

Samunnati Financial Intermediation and Services Pvt. Ltd, a non-banking financial company (NBFC) specializing in loans to farmers and entities engaged in agriculture, has raised ₹387 crore ($55 million) in a Series D round led by Nuveen, the investment management arm of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA), a senior executive said in an interview.

IndusLaw advised Samunnati Financial Intermediation and Services Private Limited, Accel Partners and Elevar Equity led by a team of partners Suneeth Katarki, Parre Basava Rao, and lawyers Vasavi Kaparthi, Stuti Agarwal, Sowmya Kumar.

Also advising was Kotak Mahindra Capital Company Limited as investment bankers.

Nishith Desai Associates advised Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association led by leader Nishchal Joshipura, with lawyers Rohan Singh and Anusha Reddy.

Indus had acted on Samunnati’s 2018 Series C of $24m for Elevar, with the company having been represented by Samvad Partners back then. Khaitan & Co had represented responsAbility Investments in that round.
