Bengaluru-based packaged foods start-up Kottaram Agro Foods that markets its products under the brand Soulfull, has raised Rs 35 crores (around $5.4m) from India’s leading impact investment firm and part of the Aavishkaar-Intellecap Group, Aavishkaar Bharat Fund, as reported by Mint and The Economic Times.

Jerome Merchant + Partners advised Aavishkaar Bharat Fund in the fund-raise and was led by partner Sameer Sibal and associates Minal Sangatwani and Shaleen Tiwari.

Trilegal Bangalore acted for Kottaram Agro Foods in the transaction and was represented by partner Kosturi Ghosh, senior associate Rohith Rajendran and associate Advait Nair.

Founded in 2011, Kottaram Agro Foods though its snack and breakfast cereal brand, Soulfull brings traditional grains such as millets back to the consumer in modern avatars. With the recent fundraising the brand is also set to foray into the beverages category by launching a high protein healthy drink Smoothix this summer.
