MCM, Algo, ‘like-minded’ lawyers The Guild, on $3.5m Series A into nanotech start-up Log 9

Bengaluru-based nanotechnology startup Log 9 Materials Scientific Pvt. Ltd said on Monday that it has raised $3.5 million (Rs 31.32 crore) in it Series A funding round from Sequoia India’s scale up program Surge and Exfinity Venture Partners.

Mani Chengappa & Mathur (MCM)advised Exfinity Technology Fund II (Exfinity) led by a team of partner Samuel Mani, senior associate Sindhushree Gadashalli and associate Neha Susan Rajan, according to MCM.

Also advising was Algo Legal for Sequoia Capital led by a team including associate partner Prateek Mohapatra, and senior associate Anupam Roy, and associate Spandan Saxena.

The Guild acted for Log 9 Materials Scientific, led by corporate partner Shivendra Singh and senior associate Pallavi Khanna.

The Guild is an Indian “association of like-minded legal practitioners”, according to its website, including 3 partners, namely Abhijeet Swaroop, Vinam Gupta and Tabrez Malawat.
