Themis Mumbai on Milkbasket’s $3m Pre-Series A from Unilever's PE arm

Gurgaon-based upcoming micro-delivery grocery platform has secured Rs 19 crores (around $3m) in a Pre-Series A funding round, led by Unilever Ventures Holdings the investment arm of Unilever PLC, as reported by The Times of India and Mint. The grocery delivery platform had raised around $500k in another Pre-Series A funding round from Blume Ventures and Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group, earlier in August, 2017.

Themis Associates acted for Unilever Ventures in the fundraise and was represented by their Mumbai office based team led by associate partner Siddharth Manchanda along with associate Neha Mirajgaoker.

Founded in 2015 by Anant Goel, Ashish Goel, Anurag Jain and Yatish Talvadia, Milkbasket delivers essential grocery items at the doorstep and plans to use the fresh capital and Unilever’s expertise to strengthen technology, expand their assortment and customer base and monetising other streams of revenues.
