Well-known academic, Alternative Law Forum (ALF) founder and NLSIU Bangalore alumnus Lawrence Liang has appealed in the Delhi high court against Ambedkar University Delhi’s sexual harassment committee finding of March that he had harassed a female PhD student of another Delhi university, suspending him from administrative duties.

Well-known human rights activist, academic and lawyer Lawrence Liang, who is a professor of law at Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD), has been found guilty by an AUD committee of having sexually harassed a female PhD student of another university, reported Asia Times today.

Advocate Lawrence Liang, part of the Bangalore-based Alternative Law Forum, has issued a legal notice to Penguin India, claiming that the publisher has violated freedom of speech laws and readers’ rights by agreeing to destroy all copies of Wendy Doniger’s book The Hindus.
