Link Legal India Law Services has hired the co-founders of RM Partners, Nikhil Rodrigues and Jyoti Maheshwari, as partners in its Mumbai office.

We rereported earlier this week that the SpicyIP blog was cited by Bombay high court Justice Gautam Patel as having made a persuasive argument about not issuing blanket bans of websites against persons unknown (John Doe), in-part swaying Patel to only issue a narrow block of specific URLs on file sharing websites.

RM Partners won a John Doe order in the Bombay high court today, directing several websites to take down the downloadable copy of the yet unreleased Hindi film Udta Punjab, and temporarily restraining cable operators from telecasting the film.
