Only in mid-June the BCI moved to a new address at 225 Phase III in the Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi (110020).
Less than four months later last week on 1 October with around one days’ notice to staff, the roughly 40-person BCI office moved back to its original location in central Delhi at 21 Rouse Avenue Institutional Area (110002).
The rent for the previous premises was above what the BCI could afford and the budget the law ministry had made available to the BCI, according to a person with knowledge of the move.
This prompted the move back to the old premises which are owned by the BCI and were in the process of being renovated.
Following the shift, the telephone helpline for the all India bar exam is currently not operational.
It is understood that Airtel, the operator of the telephone line, has not yet responded to repeated BCI requests to forward the landline helpline numbers at the old address to the new address.
Internet connectivity has also not yet been installed at the premises, with BCI staff mainly relying on USB wireless broadband connections.
As of today around 10,000 applications for the bar exam have been received according to a BCI source, with the deadline for applications having been recently extended to the end of October.
The exam is scheduled to take place on 5 December.
The total number of law students graduating in 2010 is generally estimated to be between 50,000 and 60,000.

Though also BCI is charging us heavily (Rs.1300) they have niether provided any option for such 'online confirmation' nor they are responding to phone calls.

actively day in and day out issuing press briefings,not to protect the interests of the advocates and the institutions that produce thousands of advocates every year, but to project his owm image, that he is messiah and will root out all dirt.Isn't funny that he is planning to curtail about 900 law collegs to less than two hundred? Isn't funny that he is still forcing to conduct the bar examination, inspite of majority bar councils objections? Isn't he following a route to discredit the BCI?Is he alone running the show?Isn't he being controlled, from behind? How will he justify shifting of office and then again back to the same building?Hasn't he landed BCI into unavoidable litigation?Hasn't he [...] the BCI,financially?Hasn't he compromised the independence of BCI? How he manages to go on foreign tours frequently?[...] How he justify his absence for which he is being paid by the tax payers? Who performs his duties in his absence? Registered for examination before mid August but still have not received study materials.

"The Bar Council of India (BCI) has made All India Bar Examination (AIBE) mandatory for all law graduates who have passed in the academic year 2009-10 to practice law in India. The BCI will conduct the AIBE in nine languages across 27 cities in India on December 5,2010.
The BCI is providing preparatory materials (in nine languages) for this examination to all candidates. The application forms (along with an instruction sheet) are available at all State Bar Councils and at the Bar Council of India in New Delhi. The candidates can also apply online for the AIBE through www.barcouncilofindia.org.
