AIPMT 2015 to be held in 3 months not 1, begs CBSE of apex court

PTI reported that the Supreme Court, which cancelled the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) on Monday, has agreed to listen to the plea of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) asking that it needed at least three months to conduct a new AIPMT:

A bench of justices RK Agrawal and AM Sapre decided to take up the CBSE petition after solicitor general Ranjit Kumar mentioned the matter before it. Kumar told the apex court that it is impossible to re-conduct the exam within the time frame decided by the Supreme Court. He said that the board was overburdened with work of conducting seven exams simultaneously and it needed at least three months time to conduct the exam afresh.

CBSE is an old institution that needs overhauling. Even the CBSE UGC NET results have not been declared yet. The exam took place in December 2014 and till no updates from CBSE. NET July 2015's form filling is also over but December 2014 results are not out.

It will save a lot of trouble for the hapless, confused and exhausted aspirants if the apex court pass an interim order withholding the admission counseling by the private medical colleges. Definitely the court can intervene for the better if they have the authority to annul the recent examination. Otherwise it will not be of much help to the students.
