AIPMT 2016: No change in schedule, NEET not cancelled

The Supreme Court today said that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) on 1 May and 24 July for admission to under-graduate medical courses as it had earlier directed.

Besides NEET, the medical entrance examination being conducted by some states including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana and others will also take place separately.

Saying that the examinations will go on, an apex court bench headed by Justice Anil R Dave asked Additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand and others to file applications seeking whatever relief they want.

Earlier in the morning, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi addressed the court seeking modification of its first day order contending that a large number of students who had their schooling in the regional languages not proficient in English will find it difficult to appear in NEET 1 to be held on 1 May.

This would be discriminatory, the attorney general said, making a strong plea that the court should allow the exam being conducted by states along with NEET

The CBSE is conducting the NEET in the current year only in English and Hindi.

this two phase of exam is really unfair because in tamilnadu many state board syllabus students also apply for aipmt by their school but they are not prepare for exam that type students also forced to write the test in phase1 so kind request court have to conduct the exam in single phase

This is not done. They must take only 1 exam on 24th july and not in two phases

At least it should be conducted in one phase later on ..to provide equal chances for the students. Please pay attention to the mentality of students preparing for this as a life time achievement.A little loosening of this judicial order may save many students from suicide

Student will commit suicide..after that don't so your concern over us.....seriously govt. You have done great job by scattering our dream in just one blow...thanks to our govt..after some days there will decrease in our student popullation...seriously i wish i was'nt a indian..
