CJI Lodha caps SC summer holidays at 7 weeks (avg summer hols so far: 45 days)

Chief Justice of India (CJI) RM Lodha has notified the Supreme Court Rules, 2013 that have received the president’s assent and will reduce the maximum time of the apex court’s summer vacations from 10 to 7 weeks, reported the Indian Express, though the total annual holidays will remain capped at 103 days [Download rules here].

The court took 49 days (7 weeks) of summer vacations this year, against an average of 45 days for the past few years. However, the move is seen as symbolic of Lodha’s desire to reduce pendency in the courts by increasing the number of working days, which has seen heavy resistance from bar councils and associations.

Which other country has such long "summer vacations" where Justice takes a long slumber.... so to speak?

Yes for the British sahebs it was too hot in India but what about the native sahebs?

A big good start by the Honorable CJI Mr. R M Lodha but what is there to panic about by the bars and the associations. I request the lawyers that sometimes the duty of the lawyers becomes to big that the court can also can't walk a bit without your efforts. A big push start is needed by the lawyers and without there efforts, the pendancy of the cases and the genuine justice delivery is not at all possible. So Dear Lawyers please consider and don't mind as nothing about anyone has been said personally and whatever mentioned is all in general.
