Dushyant Dave is new SCBA president after messy election & realistic promises [UPDATE-1]

Senior advocate Dushyant Dave has won the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) 2014 elections, with V Shekhar winning the vice-president race again and Aishwarya Bhati retaining the secretary post.

The win was first confirmed by Twitter accounts @ElectionWitness, who anonymously documented the SCBA elections (and the litter it generated) in real time.

Dave won with 399 votes, just ahead of Dr Adish Chandra Aggarwala who had 358 votes, and Rupinder Singh Suri with 315 votes. The previous president, PH Parekh, was not on the shortlist this year.

According to @ElectionWitness, Dave won on a platform of practical suggestions:

I note the 'Election Witness' in one of the tweets says 'can't wait for this nonsense to end'. A bit curious to know whether that was being referred to the SCBA election process or the canvassing. Either way, the word 'nonsense' being used in this context seems a bit out of place. The SCBA election process is more than half a century-old democratic process of electing the executive leadership for the members of the bar association. And to call this process as 'nonsense' is something that is a bit unjustifiable.

I concur. If that so, why was he covering it?
Plus don't give the title messy on what one random witness said.
