New SC seniors: @sanjayuvacha Hegde, Rana Muhkerjee, Subramonium Prasad, Mahalakshmi Pavani, V Mohana

Five lawyers, including two women, were designated as senior advocates by the Supreme Court today - Rana Muhkerjee, Subramonium Prasad, Mahalakshmi Pavani, V Mohana and Sanjay Hegde - reported Bar & Bench.

Hegde is one of the most active Indian advocates on the social network Twitter, where he has 37,330 tweets to his handle @sanjayuvacha and just under 5,000 followers since joining in 2010.

Senior counsel Harish Salve, tweeting at @hsalve, boasts 36,082 followers but has only sent 682 tweets since joining in 2009.

Good to know that Mr. Hegde has been designated Senior. In any case, he was being represented as "Senior Advocate" by Times Now where he appears on Newshour frequently. This had become quite a joke in the Delhi courts because Mr. Hegde never once corrected him. Kian, I hope instead of censoring this comment (as you often do when it comes to your friends) you will go on the Youtube Times Now Channel and find what I am saying is correct.

Why would we censor that, I'm sure it happens all the time on Times Now, and correcting Arnab seems like a very bad idea... :)

And nodding in agreement when anchors on TV refer you to as "Senior Advocate" and not correcting the producer when the ticker shows "Senior Advocate" is a great idea, isn't it?
