As a matter of ethical and holistic reporting, when you focus so much on the law school that Mr Sondhi graduated from, do report his views in the subject in its entirety. Mr Sondhi has been quoted by bar and bench as saying:

"Regardless of which law school you come from or what degrees you hold, litigation is a function of experience, a function of confidence, and that can only come with time.”

This is the qualitative difference between states like Punjab on one side and states like Karnataka on other side. Mr. Sondhi, great great guy - seeing him argue has always been a delight - has now been made AAG (after he became Senior Counsel and passed out of college at least a decade ago). Now, compare this to Punjab. There are atleast two instances where a person was made AAG of the state within 2-3 years of graduating when his/her/its parent was serving as one of the senior-most bureaucrat of the State (in one case the parent was the Chief Secretary!). Similarly, in Haryana a fresher was made AAG when his father was still serving as the AG of the State!! Kian - this is not an exercise in name and shame - but it would be rather interesting if you could do an article on these obvious cases of nepotism. It wont be difficult to get the material, come to court and just plug into the goss.
