Is our law school coverage still NLSIU biased? I would say no. But does NLSIU dominate LegallyIndia’s headlines? Probably yes, at the moment. Please help us to fix this!

I agree, as I have done before, that coverage of law schools other than only national ones is important. We have been taking gradual steps on this front, for example covering the launch of Jindal and the mooting success of private schools.

We are hoping to report more hard news from these schools soon too.

But ultimately we also depend to a certain extent on students or anonymous tipsters as to what is going on at law colleges, considering the sheer number of law colleges there are in India.

So please, I encourage you to get in touch any time via the many anonymous forms or email addresses on our website to share news that is happening at your law school.

I went through the arguments of post you had re-posted. And then saw you asking for help from anonymous ‘tipsters’. Very unsettling to see you re-post the post just to have it draw flak from some NLS grads here.

That’s obvious. Answer this question for starters. Do you need ‘tips’ to read headlines? I am in Delhi and I can see the headlines here covering the swine flu in Pune. Not only through print media, but even the online coverage of almost every major national newspaper has extensively reported on the H1N1 flu deaths in Pune and the consequent shutting down of colleges. If you need ‘tips’ to report that, then to borrow a phrase, please rename this site ‘NLSesIndia.com’.

I was travelling the weekend of the Pune headlines and was ill for most of the following week (not swine flu fortunately!).

That meant that I did miss the headlines in that case unfortunately.

We are currently inducting new staff members, which will improve the width of our coverage.

You were ill the weekend that it happened? Umm, so how many weekends did you miss? Because it has been out there on an almost weekly basis.

Re-direction of comments posted in the original article is downright vexatious. You had an article about the edcuational authorities shutting down educational institutions and someone posted a comment there relating to it.

So now you decide where criticism against you is levelled? Since hte majority of visitors to legallyindia.com usually view only the article, this re-direction makes it convenient for them not to be privy to your reporting errors, not to mention comments that highlight it.

One thought this was a promising site when it started, bring a non-partisan view to reportage of the legal developments in India. But beginning with the biased coverage towards certain NLSes and with the current re-direction of comments episode, your mode of operating has been a revelation.

I bid you goodbye sir. Never to visit this site again and forewarn anyone who take your ‘reporting’ seriously.

Similarly, it is our prerogative to moderate comments, as we have made clear several times.

However, I would like to add that you would be hard pressed to find any news site, legal or otherwise, which would have posted some of your comments up at all.

This thread and others in the forum have been created for open criticism and meta discussions about Legally India, and I am happy to continue doing it, particularly when it is constructive.

A news story is generally not the place for this, particularly if you have made the same point many times before.

Rest assured, however, that we are taking your input seriously and are working on widening our law school coverage.

But having said that this site is a great effort. If possible then for legal jobs tie up with some good HR agencies.

We have in fact been working hard on our jobs site in the last month and will keep doing so… I think RM is running a fairly different model from us so it’s less of a matter of ass-kicking…

Pretty furious discussion up there already, not here for more. Got the point where u make an appeal to anonymous tipsters for news regarding nonNLS’s. Would keep that in mind. Good efforts(no sarcasm intended) showing results, yes I too feel jobs is the area to look out for.

Sorry for the not so good draft that I added last time. By Campus Recruitment, I mean that various firms have various formats for interviews. These days since the awareness, of what should be done to Get Recruiters hound on you like dogs do on bones, has increased tremendously(thanks to LI). So, there is a good chance that XYZ firm may along with written & group & personal interview add along a commercial awareness thing, following the suit of international law firms.

So firstly, It would be gr8 if LI, if not for all major Indian firms, for most of them, disclose the format of selection of those firms, in Campus Interviews and also, if any changes they adopt in the above format. This would be useful for readers, in case they’re appearing for an interview @ campus & they’d also know what to expect.

What should be done by aspirants, how to answer, can be done as an option, the above 1st task being a priority.
