Pls advise
Hi,
I am a Company Secretary with one year of work experience and a fresh law graduate out of Delhi University. Like all dreamy law graduates I am over contacting the Tier 1/2/3 law firms for a position in their office. What I am getting is almost 50% of what my take home is as a Company Secretary. All these Delhi based law firms are floating how the work exposure is and how the market value doublefolds after joining them.
My issue how should I priorities the things to look out in a law firm.
Do we go for the clients/ infra of office/ take home/ besides work profile.
Further it is becoming difficult for me to go to a meagre stipend form of take home which is half of my present salary. All I wana know from people who are working in law firms is -is the deal worth it. But at the same time I am not able to justify my double qualifications with such stipend!!..
Its disheartning to see how badly associates are being paid in small law firm that pure corporate law firms.
Pls advise.

30 k …how will this help you advise?
THere is no point in joining a small law firm and also taking a hit on your salary. Small law firms do not pay and cannot give you the exposure or training that one may expect. It may be better to continue with corporate jobs, earn decent money and gain experience in the corporate sector, and after a few years try to move to bigger firms as a lateral. We have seen a lot of movement from the corporate sectors to law firms in the past, especially if you are working in a Bank/NBFC/Construction/IT sector
