yes, you can lodge a complain. You go to the nearest police station and lodge a complain against all the mobile numbers which sends you unwanted sms or gives you unwanted call. Police can investigate the complain under IT ACt, IPC, TR Act . At first police will contact with the service provider from whose number the calls and sms are coming and will acquire the identification of the users and will file cases against them. if the identification of the users cannot be made by the service providers then the service provider can stop the services of those numbers under Telephone Regulatory Act. you will get the proper justice and relief. you need not to change your number. Immediately go to the nearest Police Station and lodge a complain against those numbers. If Police denies to lodge complain then either go to the nearest Court of your area or go to the Superintendent of Police of your area and lodge the complain.

Yes, You can file complain petition before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of your area regarding the police harassment to make an inquiry into the matter and also file a written complain before the Superintendent of Police/ Police Commissioner of your area about the harassment by such police personal. Also write a petition to the Human right commission seeking help.

Simple suggestion…just change the SIM card or move to another service provider.

You should appproch Anti stalking cell. These cell are made to prevent such harrashment. Just go to police station and register your complaint with Anti Stalking Cell. Rest will be headache of their.

There is no need of changing your sim card or hiding. Just dial 100 and register your complaint.

Presumably not every local police station has an anti stalking unit? Although I would assume that in the big cities there are such units…

It is worth getting the police to help, but I think in the absence of the police assistance there are always more practical solutions such as getting the number blocked from your telephone provider, or if you have a smartphone, installing a call blocking software that will automatically ignore certain incoming calls and messages.

If you can you have an option of changing the phone numbr.Hope this will solve the problem but the guy who has found your this numbr may also find your new number in due course. Alternatively you can directly go to the police station and show the cell and register an FIR against the callers.You can also report the mattr to the cell service provider.

He has also attacked him once with the help of his criminal friends almost taking his life. There was no action taken against him at that time.

If people call from several different numbers, just save them all in your phone book under the name “Spam” and don’t answer them in future. That tends to help sometimes.

Changing your mobile number may not help much. There are only a handful of mobile operators in our country. Most of the management of these operators know each other and interact/socialize regularly. You see, telecom is a very very small world. Everybody knows everybody else. And it is a really dirty world. Harrassment , bullying, human rights violation are common practices. TRAI usually keeps an eye on the unfair/unlawful practices of the telecom operators. You can shoot off an email/correspondence to the TRAI , keeping the HR head of the company of your stalker in the CC. Let them know that your personal numbers have been leaked to the strangers through that telecom operator. Also register an FIR with cyber crime cell. Mention the FIR report number in your mail. Let them know that you would be forced to take legal actions against the Telecom Operator if they don’t find the leak which leaked your personal numbers. This will deffinitely ruffle many feathers. Telecom world is a small world. It doesn’t take time for the news to go around. Telecom managers act as bullies within the telecom world but they are novices when it comes to law and order. People who helped your ex would certainly stop doing that after there is a high level enquiry by the HR department.

When you say using your smartphone block the number or black list or put them in rejected list that pretty simple and if this is what the victim has to do I don’t think she will ever want any help for doing that .

My question is if the person is blocked or black listed will he be learning a lesson. The answer is no. probably you should agree to this.

What I suggest here is a service which helps us to find details of such culprits so that they can be traced and taught a lesson for what they think is fun.

Your worrying is not going to do any good.. talk to your family about this issue and explain them that it was just getting to know a person, also let them know what you have learnt from the issue.. Visit the police station and file a FIR there are various sections under which the caller may be charged. The police usually, as per their will, record a non-cognizable complaint but as this amounts to cognizable offence as their is threat to murder etc (use a connection if possible). If the police refuse file an FIR and act, file a private complaint through a lawyer before the magistrate who will direct the police. Using the technology the police can identify the caller’s location and act. If not try changing your number.

I have lost my sleep trying to figure out how this person has got my number, when i have shared it only with a chosen few. Please give a written complaint to the cyber cell located in SP office… They would trace the number and identify the person and lodge a FIR against that person and you would be saved incase the person tries to play something fishy in between… Cyber cell is there in each District of a State…
