is a French national with an Indian law degree eligible to practice law in India?

I am a citizen of French nationality, I have recently graduated from Government law college Mumbai (LLB) in 2010-2011 and would like to take the AIBE to practise law in India. Is this possible or is the AIBE open only to Indian nationals. (I have a 3 year Indian law degree, am i eligible to practice law in India?)

I am afraid you can, Read this:

24. Persons who may be adopted as advocates on a State roll.

(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, and the rules made there under, a person shall be qualified to be admitted as an advocate on a State roll, if he fulfills the following conditions, namely: -

(a) He is a citizen of India:

Provided that subject to the other provisions contained in this Act, a national of any other country may be admitted as an advocate on a State roll, if citizens of India, duly qualified, are permitted to practise law in that other country;

(b) He has completed the age of twenty-one years;

(c) He has obtained a degree in law-

So find out if ur country is allowing Indian nationals to PDA rise Indian citizens which I think it must be allowing, just inquire with BCI and best of luck.
