Best firm for litigation in Delhi?

Which firm in Delhi is best for litigation? I know there can be no one answer to this question and neither do I intend to start a debate… Just need an insight into the litigation scenario in Delhi, for an NLU passout with an year PQE, no background in law and a passion for litigation!
Any help regarding litigation law firm would be appreciated in terms of:
1. Nature of work and exposure
2. Timings
3. Industry reputation
4. Opportunities
5. Money
Biggies, start-ups, anything!

Delhi is the hub of litigation so I guess there would be lot of opportunities. I believe every big law firm has a litigation department so u can apply to them and since u are an NLU passout, I guess u might land up at a gud place. Firms like Amarchand and Karanjawala are considered best for lit. Firms like AZB, Khaitan, PH parekh, JSA and Luthra and Luthra also have decent litigation department. However, in my personal opinion, if u are passionate about litigation and money is not the priority, I would suggets apply to senior counsels and join them. No better place to venture into litigation than this. As a back up plan, in case u dnt land up anywhr, join a lower court lawyer because it teaches u a hell lot of things. At lower courts u wud get oppportunity to argue, conduct cross examinations and handle matters on your own, something which senior counsels/firms won’t allow u at initial stage..all the best man
Thank you! Any comparison between the firms named in terms of timings specifically? i’ve heard Luthra timings are quite inhuman in litigation! how do the other relatively new breakaways like Tatva and Platinum Partners fare in litigation?

Might sound dramatic but litigation is all about sweat and blood. Be ready to slog for long hours, and since we are young people, we can afford to do dat. Mostly firms have gruelling schedules but my personal experience at PH parekh was different. There one wud generally get free by 7:30 pm. Otherwise normally u may have to work till 9 or 10. Depends totally as to how much work do you have in hand. I have also heard senior counsels in Delhi asking associates to come on Sundays to prepare for hearings on Monday. Besides, about choice of senior counsels, you would have to be lucky to get a call from one. Also depends on what you want to take up; Labour, Arbitration, Corporate Litigation or Tax. There are senior counsels who specialise in certain types of matters and you could apply to an individual who practices in subject of your choice. Few of the popular ones are- Mr. Salve, Mr. PP Rao, Mr. KK Venugopal, Mr. Gopal Subramanium,Mr. Vivek Tankha, Mr.Mukul Rohatgi, Mr. Sundaram and others.
