What would you like Legally India to be?

kianganz 31 Mar 2009, 07:39

Hello

I will be editing Legally India and I hope it will be an enjoyable and valuable experience for everyone.

As you can see, there is not much content at present but things should be getting fully started soon after I relocate to Mumbai in May 2009.

In the meantime, please let me know what you are interested in reading about. Do you like news about Indian law firm politics, jobs, deals analysis, law firm guides, law schools, international firms or litigation?

The list will be endless and if you like reading about it, we will try our best to cover it.

Please also let me know what kind of other features you would like to see on the site. I would like Legally India to become a buzzing jobs portal and community, so feel free to suggest anything that will make your experience more pleasant.

Finally, I hope you will get in touch at any time via the contact links scattered around the pages, I would love to hear from you.

Best wishes,

Kian Ganz

Hi Kian,

I would like to thank you for bringing across such a wonderful site focusing on developments in the Indian legal circle. It was always felt that something like “Asian Legal Online”/Lawyers.com is necessary in the Indian context since everything seemed under the wraps.

I believe information about law firm growth, practice areas that come in demand, law firm moves, also a little gyan about client preferences and senior counsels will make legally india a very interesting place. You could also add a forum facilitating discussion between lawyers inter se and between lawyers and potential clients.

Thanks,

Sreejit

Thanks Sunjay for your nice words.

At your request, have just opened a new forum for discussion of legal issues and posted a query from a law student. Unfortunately not so contemporary but perhaps someone can help anyway?

Please also feel free to post any legal debate topics there any time.

We regularly also get emails from non-lawyers asking us for legal advice. Should we post up the more interesting queries?

Could be a good way to help raise legal awareness among the general population.

Do let us know what you think.

Warm regards,

Kian

i guess now that legallyindia has gained much popularity amongst law students and practitioners, it is a good idea to put up legal queries coming from general public over here…

this will serve three purposes:

firstly, as you said it will definitely help raise legal awareness among the general population.

secondly, it will encourage healthy discussions and debates amongst students and practitioners and this will only add to everybody’s knowledge.

thirdly, this will give the law students - in particular - an insight into the practical aspects of the law, as in where and how to apply what…

thus, i think all in all its a wonderful idea!!
