French Language benefits in Indian Legal Profession and abroad?

I am in 3rd tear of my law course, I am doing my Ba.LLB from Amity Law School, Noida, India

I am thinking of learning french, though it a little , What are the future career prospects of a French language speaking lawyer in India or abroad??

I’d say that you learning to speak/write better English than you just typed will improve your prospects of getting a job. Amity Noida ? What were you thinking ?

I think you should learn French. You never know what career opportunities come your way. French is one of the most widely used languages in the UN after English. Nothing wrong in learning it. Some day you might have to interact with clients who know French better than they know English. All the best.

A foreign language is good on CV, but it would neither help in the Indian market nor lead to a foreign job by itself. French will be very helpful if you have aspirations of working in Paris, or with some UN agency, or with the ICC at Paris. However, if you learn basic French and do not pursue higher fluency levels, it is unlikely to be helpful from that perspective. Generally, without an LLM from top universities like US top 10 or Oxbridge and without qualifying to practice law in US or England, it may be impossible to land those jobs. To be honest, foreign languages usually do not help unless coupled with admission to a foreign bar. But, by all means, pursue a language if you have time. Other great options: Mandarin - the hottest cake in the legal sector, although difficult to learn; German - Germany is a big market and the language is big in Europe; Spanish - useful in the US and Latin America and looks great on CV in those markets; Russian - oil and gas related positions in Russia. However, you’ll need to be admitted to a foreign bar to get a foreign job.

Will French help me getting a good job there?

But there aare various French and International Law firms in India

Won’t it be an improvement on my CV if i know french ?
