Law firms and Job

Hi, I’m in the third year of a National Law School. There are certain things I’m confused about and I hope you guys can help me.
1) I want to pursue my career in the corporate sector. Is it better to be a in-house counsel or join a law firm?
2) Is it better to do CS or LLM abroad?
3) What is the possibility of getting a PPO and which are the firms that offer the same?
I really hope someone can help me with these questions. Thanks !

By “National Law School” did you mean RMNLU, RGNLU or that College in Orissa ? Because if you were from a real National Law School you wouldnt be here asking these imbecilic questions.
ignore kraken, just like five fingers are not equal, not everybody gives proper answers
1. in a law firm - you are seen as a “revenue center” - so your main goal would be revenue generation, and your salary will show that. as an inhouse counsel you are a “cost center” so it will always be about cost cutting - howsoever high you may reach.
Revenue center usually get higher paid than cost centers - and the pressures and tension are also higher in revenue center.
2. in my personal opinion, you should do both. CS while you are doing law and LLM post your llb. I say this because, both answer very different segments are both are important for career growth in India. - what should be the deciding factor is cost - LLM will push you back by a cool 20 lakhs minimum. CS is probably less than a lakh. apart from cost, if your aim is to be in India and in corporate - CS is a must.
3. for PPOs try interning with firms you want to work with. good academics and college network should help.

What does a “real National Law School” have that RMLNLU, RGNUL and NLUO don’t have? Just because they are not as old as the other NLUs, that does not mean that they are not a “real National Law School”. A seed sown takes time to grow into a tree and bear fruits. The achievements of these NLUs in such a short span of time is quite commendable. In my opinion, the first thing that any confused soul should do, is to avoid taking opinion of high-headed people like Kraken!
Thank you so much for your help, you two. And as far as you’re concerned Kraken, I belong to an NLU which people think is one of the best in the country. Also, I’ve friends studying in the other NLUs you mentioned and I think these places are absolutely fantastic too. So, if you can’t help someone, please refrain from talking. We all will be much obliged.
