Would LLM from NLU help me find a job despite poor campus placement?

hi,
i am from allahabad university 5 year law program.we do not have any campus placement at our college. I have done interships but not with very reputed law firms as i am an average student and havenot done any moot court, and being from a non existent college it is very difficult to get internships in reputed firms. i have inclination towards corporate side. i want to ask whether doing LLM from a clat college will help me get a job? and what other options do i have other than law firms?

Dear Lostsoul,
A Masters of Law degree from any of the NLUs wouldn’t be of much help. Most of the NLUs do not have strong placement programmes as far as LLMs are concerned.
Instead, a better way to get into law firms would be to practice with a Senior Counsel for a year or two and then apply to law firms, when you will be better-equipped with litigation experience and drafting. I personally think this is the best way for students from non-NLU background to make it to reputed firms. Of course, you will need to also network a lot during this time.
