Doubt Regarding Internship At Lawyers Collective (Mumbai)
Hello there.
Thank you for clicking on the link.
I am a student in the first year at an NLU. I would like to apply for an internship during the month of June-July at an NGO in Mumbai.
My first choice was HRLN (Human Rights Law Network), however I missed the application deadline.
I am now seeking an internship at Lawyers Collective (Mumbai) and I had a few doubts regarding the same:
1. The website doesn’t provide adequate information regarding internships. We’re expected to click on a link which takes us to a page on the Deadly Law website. The post is dated September, 2013. Is anyone aware of the updated procedure for applying, if any? What are the required documents that must be sent in? What is the deadline for applications?
2. When one applies for internship, does Lawyers Collective permit them to intern under a wing of their choice? If I want to intern under the LGBT rights wing, will I be allowed to do that or will it depend on the discretion of the organisation?
3. This is a question for those who have interned at Lawyers Collective before. I’d like to know what the work environment is like and what they expect from the interns so that I may be better prepared in the event that my application is accepted.
4. Finally, if there are other internships available at Mumbai NGOs that you know of, I’d be grateful for any information I could get.
I apologize if this information is already available and this post is considered to be spam.
Thank you for your time.

Hi ,
I recently interned at Lawyer’s Collective’s Women’s Rights Division. It was a good experience overall with mainly research and office work. The team is very friendly and supportive. The overall work environment is great. If you want to intern there , call up the Mumbai office number on their website and speak to Ms. Neetu from the HIV AIDS Division( Since you mentioned that’s the division you want to work in)
Good Luck!
Thank you so much for your help! :)
