Shri Gopal Subramaniam could have certainly become CJI later had he not given to his emotions. Anger and frustration inspite of the advice from CJI made him lose his balance, resulted in his uncalled for outburst. Honorable CJI showed his statesmenship and independence by slamming the government (executive) and asserted the independence of judiciary which is the basic structure of our constitution. Most of the intellectuals agree that any government without difference would like to tamper with the higher judicial appointments and the honorable CJI rightly expressed his displeasure. CJI is also right in pointing out the uncalled for comments of such a senior lawyer against the supreme court which is the protector of our constitution and guarantor of vibrant democracy. Mr Gopal Subramaniam has done yomen service particularly when he took up the issue of Lord Padmanabaswamy temple matter. He neednot worry and must believe that the lord has much better plan for him and think positively. I still feel had gopal ji been silent he would have become the Judge of Supreme Court now and CJI later which would have been a great achievement. Lord Krishna in Gita,“From anger, complete delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. When memory is bewildered, intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost one falls down again into the material pool.”
