Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar is organising Academy on Advance Issues of Public International Policy between November 3rd, 2014 to November 8th, 2014.

Aims:

1. To Provide knowledge on contemporary advance issues and practices of International Law with focus on Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law and Use of Force,terrorism and collective security and rule of international law.

2. To discuss and analyse the state practice of developed and emerging nations like USA, the European Union, Australia, Israel & India and future operational challenges and issues at officers’ level.

3. To acquire understanding on the above so that foreign service officers make use of relevant legal texts and apply international in their daily work most efficiently.

Duration:

Monday (3rd November) – Saturday (8th November)

6 Days followed by daily group discussions, four lectures, each of 1.5 hours.

Methodology:

Lectures (including video lecture), workshop, seminar and documentary. Every candidate has to undertake 250 pages of additional self study prior to commencement of the course.

Fees:

Eligibility:

(a) Be on probationary or active duty as an officer of Foreign Ministry of Developing Country as recognised by the OECD.

(b) Officer serving in relevant fields.

(d) Preferably under the age of 40 years.

Faculty:

Faculty will consist of well-experienced senior Foreign Service officers/diplomats,

international law scholars, judges and arbitrators, policy-makers drawn from respective regions
