Dear Sir/Madam,

There is a land (plot) which is on my parents name.

My father bought and then added my mom’s name in it as well.

Can my dad use auction as an option to sell the property without my mom’s approval?

He tells that he will auction it after giving an ad in newspaper and my mom’s share will go to Govt. and that can be claimed from Govt later by mom or children.

If he gives ad in newspaper, we won’t know that he has done that and then can he just get it auctioned on his own?

Property never had any loan and doesn’t have any loan on it.

The property is in Chandigarh and my parents are resident of Punjab, in case state laws apply.

Kindly guide with the confirmation that whether my father can do auction or not without my mom’s consent.
