DU or Jindal Law School?
I am having a hard time deciding between these two options for my three year LLB course- Jindal law school and DU. I am getting a a scholarship at Jindal (most probably 3 lakhs) so I would have to pay only half the tuition fee. But that still is a lot of amount. I am willing to pay that if I would be learning something at Jindal which I wouldn’t anywhere else. I did go to their campus and it was like any other private uni campus..so nothing special about that.
I am getting 488 in my DU entrance, which i think would be enough to get me a seat. So DU has this reputation of being one of the best unis in school. I have no idea how much of that is true about Faculty of law. I am particularly skeptical about DU’s standard of education after they gave a comprehension on the friendship of an elephant and a dog. Even a second grader could have done that. If this the standard they expect of their students, should I really be lowering my standards just for the sake of reputation? Also, most of the test was just a work of copy and paste from the guide books.
I would also want to know about the type of crowd that goes to these two law schools.

If the test was so easy then why 488, why not 700. Delhi univ is the best in 3 year Llb programes. Jindal , amity etc. Are all money making institutions. Although they provide good enviroment .but still they cannot match standard of DU. And 488 are not enough to get a seat because this time univ is going to limit the no. of seats to only 900 . The cutoff is going to be highest this time . and yes the crowd is always the best atlest better then Jindal .

Having interacted with both, people who are or have studied in DU and Jindal, I think that’s a wrong conclusion about “the crowd”. It’s a mix everywhere, and making a generic statement would amount to hasty generalisation IMO. Many Jindal students are at par, if not better than, students in DU.
Oh and before you throw any ad hominems at me, I’m a NUJS graduate.
I just really want to know if the law school one attends really matters in the long run. I now have some idea about the crowd as I attended the counselling sessions at DU, and yes its a mix. A mix of every type of student one can get in India. The only dilemma I am facing now is if I would benefit more from Jindal than DU. I really don’t mind paying some extra money if I would be getting the same value in return. Please do reply.

I would definitely not take the risk of taking career advises from a person who doesn’t know the difference between ‘then’ and ‘than’. Even though you may have had the best of intentions in mind, you did not really provide me with definite reasons as to why Going to DU will be wiser.
However, your predictions about the future were wrong and I did get admission in DU. I haven’t made my final decision yet.
Hey, which college did you end up choose? I might face the same conundrum, and my situation is pretty similar ( in terms of opinion on colleges).

hey.. so which college did you pick? and what was your consequent experience? I am facing the same conflict (although i am yet to give my DU exam yet, so i might be overreaching), but still, i’d like to gain a little clarity.
