can an agricultural land in india be transferred to a US citizen son?

I am a indian citizen.My father and brother are US citizen. My father last year came to India and tranferred(registry) his ancestral agricultural land to both of us i.e. myself and my US citizen brother.

Recently my friend said that my US citizen brother cannot get land like this?Is this worng???

My father expired last month? what are the repurcussions?

Hi,

both of you are entitled to the property as your father has registered the property in both yur names.
