Essay Writing Competition, 15th September, 2015

Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is an international non-profit organization promoting the ideas of liberal democracy, respect for human rights, rule of law and economic freedom.

FNF in partnership with Students for Liberty and Centre for Civil Society is conducting an essay/writing competition on the topic ‘What does it mean to be Liberal in India’.

We are seeking original texts in English. These must be submitted no later than September 15, 2015 after which a small group of distinguished jurors will review the entries and select the winners. Everyone under the age of 35 years is invited to join. All essays must be original and not have been published anywhere else before. The texts should not be longer than 2500 words and be submitted by e–mail as a doc. or pdf file together with a summary of no more than 250 words and a short biography of the writer.

The winner will be invited to join an educational activity in Germany sponsored by the Foundation in Germany. Further, the author of the 20 best essays will be awarded cash prizes and their texts will be published in a book with a prominent Indian publisher.
