The house my parents live in Kilpauk is in my Mom’s name and she wrote a will that after her I should get the house. One of my Mom’s relative told her that it is better to have a settlement will (?) instead of just writing a inheritance will. The settlement gives immediate ownership to me and I can pretty much do anything with the house. With just an inheritance will I need to go to court to get full ownership of the house so that I can sell or do anything with the house. Is this true?
