Recently, I had an accident when i was riding my bike on a highway near mandya. The other person who was on a scooty crossed the road without looking anywhere and since i was on the left side of the road and because there was a car blocking my vision,i couldn’t brake in time to avoid the accident. I wasn’t hurt seriously as i was wearing a jacket and a bag. The other person involved had some scratches and nothing serious, he had none of the valid documents, not even a driving license and was disabled with a crooked arm. I was ready to pay his hospital bills but local people gathered around me and threatened me. They said that it doesn’t matter whose fault it is but the bigger vehicle will be blamed. In the end i had to pay him rs 10,000. Is this true about the bigger vehicle being blamed always and what could i’ve done in such a situation?
