The NLUD figure is only for T1 and like jobs AFAIK. If you genuinely think that out of a batch of 80, only 35 people from a top law school will do something meaningful after college and the others will sit twiddling their thumbs, then you are deluded.

Law firms have not raised their compensation according to inflation. When will we stop the NLU dick-measuring contest and start talking about this?
1. Too many grads competing for less jobs. At the end, either the employer will hire a candite who quotes a lower salary or a more experienced person for the same pay.
2. Getting a decent job outside of college placements is virtually impossible.
3. Lot of CS and CMA gradutes are taking up legal jobs since they are more qualified.
The number of people who follow the Filmfare Awards and watch its nominated movies is probably much higher when compared to Cannes. Salman Khan has far more fans than your average European art film actor. Everyone in India will be able to identify Ekta Kapoor but not the girl who won at Cannes this year. But we all know which of the two awards truly recognises excellence and is truly prestigious.
