NLUD >> NALSAR
NLIU >> NLUJ
GNLU >> NUJS
PS: I would personally suggest using "rat's fart", rather than "rat's ass" from next time - personally, I think "rat's fart" is more hard-hitting and conveys the point more effectively.
NLIU vs NLUJ- the traditional one
GNLU vs NUJS- the modern one
Your precious Britain has had its school free lunch program cancelled and its university staff are out protesting because their work conditions are terrible. The irony is that this access to work you love so much is a public program. Rhodes scholars can't make that in India but bureaucrats and politicians can. If you want to sit somewhere else and complain, that's within your rights. You certainly have good reasons to complain. But it is these UPSC people you look down your nose at who might make things better. If you want to be childish enough to extend your ire against a few public servants into a vendetta against all of them, feel free.
I'm the first to admit that it takes an incredible amount of privilege to even dream of getting the rhodes scholarship. I went to law school not knowing what it is, and not even dreaming about applying because it just seemed so unreachable. Years later I wish I had given myself the opportunity to apply and to work toward it. It's a good goal. The worst thing about being poor is not really the lack of material resources- you can get around that. The worst thing is the soft bigotry of low expectations- from others and from ourselves. Even your dreams are poor. The system wins when poor people convince themselves they better not aspire to things like rhodes, that those things are not made for them and therefore aspiring to those things is not desirable, and in fact, people who think that those things are desirable must be bigoted and elitist and snobbish.
Getting the rhodes scholarship undeniably makes your life better and launches your career into a new and better stratosphere. You go from wanting a bank job to turning down offers from McKinsey. Rhodes scholars have undeniably greater impact in society than the thousands of IAS/ IPS/ IRS officers in this country. I couldn't name more than 5 top level IAS officers who have done things that have changed the course of history, I can name many many rhodes scholars who have done that, Girish Karnad, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Sagarika Ghose, Sanjeev Sanyal, Menaka Guruswamy in this country, but in other countries, I mean Bill Clinton, Hubble, Naomi Wolf, Ronan Farrow- American rhodes scholars alone have changed the course of history.
Why do poor students do this? why do we not give ourselves a chance and try and find virtue in a lack of ambition or a lack of traditional success? How is that not self injurious?
For what its worth, many wonderful rhodes scholars come from humble backgrounds. Girish Karnads mom was a poor widow all through his childhood, Sudhirs Krishnaswamys dad was a watchman, Bill Clinton was raised by a single mom on the brink of poverty. Rahul Bajaj went to- what? Nagpur University? And hes blind- and theres an aspirational success story if one wants it- im sure there are others but I wont go on. The point being- we need not constrain ourselves to only what society has deemed is good for us.
I really think we need to stop thinking about identity as destiny and burrowing into that.
Agar itne confident ho toh itne insecure kyun ho dear
Somebody once accused Sudhir of speaking with 'a characteristic sting'. Frankly, if you represent the average quality at NLS these days, you'll need 10 professors + Sudhir to have the balls to speak to you with a 'characteristic sting'. If you are not from NLS and you don't have professors who don't know what's what, I have no solution to save you. Tell me your name and you will be in my prayers every day. I will send you good thoughts every day.
Saw this first hand
Literally they're the most noob, nerdy, wannabe cool like literally if you see their intros, you'll find everyone's perfect and all rounder, doing everything right, whatever whatever etc.

If by any chance you are actually a working at a T1, when will you grow up?
It would be helpful if you could maybe share about your experience, resources you used to prepare, generally share about your preparation process, some guidance on what to expect, how its different from an interview with a law firm/lawyer, any helpful tips, etc.
TIA!
Usually High Court disciplines trial judges for giving bail. Because HC feels Trial Court Judges will threaten them. High Court Judges come from nepotistic families. Whereas Trial Judge's are selected on basis of a competitive exam.
A young Judge in Rouse Avenue Court risked her whole life and career to give the bail to Aravind Kejriwal.
Even thou Delhi High Court called her bail order perverse and delegitimised the trial judge.
She will embolden new trial judges to have a backbone.
Article on her
- Special Judge Niyay Bindu has served as a senior civil judge in the Rohini court, Delhi North West district.
- She has served as senior civil judge in Dwarka.
- She is well-versed with both civil and criminal law, according to reports.
In the order granting relief to Kejriwal, which was made available on Friday, the vacation judge held that prima facie, his guilt was yet to be established. βIt may be possible that some persons known to the applicant are having involvement in an offenceβ¦.but the ED has failed to give any direct evidence against the applicant in respect of the proceeds of crime," the judge said.
She also questioned the EDβs silence on Kejriwalβs assertion that he was arrested in the money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam without having been named in the Central Bureau of Investigationβs First Information Report (FIR) or the ECIR registered by the anti-money laundering agency. Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) is EDβs version of an FIR.
βThis is also noticeable that ED is silent about the facts as to how the proceeds of crime have been utilized in Assembly Elections in Goa by AAP as, admittedly, after about two years, the bigger portion of the alleged amount remains to be traced out," the judge said.

You'll be doing corp transactions under him. Dispute resolution is so different, I don't know how to answer but I don't think there's any correlation so as to say if it'd be easy/tough to transition that way.
I am doing my own research but Iβd like to know whatβs the general consensus out there. Thanks!
Students of these, please help me out. Should I take them if I get a chance. Are they worth it, also which one to prefer.
None of the Nlus release proper placement stats. When someone files an rti this is the picture that comes up. Nlsiu hasnt released it for so long and when someone asks for it all nls fanboys come down hard defending it. Even iit-b and iima release placement stats every year but nlus cant do so. You cant place everybody but atleast say how many you did. Nlus claim to be premier institutes but literally dont bother with the most important stat.

IIULER was constituted India International University of Legal Education and Research of the Bar Council of India Trust at Goa Act, 2021 (Goa Act 16 of 2021) - It is the only PRIVATE UNIVERSITY in the State of Goa.
Refer UGC Website to know IIULER is a PRIVATE University: https://www.ugc.gov.in/universitydetails/university?type=0wBmFB1Rb4JGVzq9UP/iOg==
They are actually deceiving people and students by stating it as a Public University!
Never ever fall in their trap!
