1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.

Recently there was a protest regarding some issues with the administration and so called "anti-student" attitude of a few faculties. The new VC is holding the VCship for the first time and his lack of experience is well demonstrated in the decisions he takes and the overall problems that the students are facing.
The placements are more or less left to the students themselves. The NLU tag kind of helps you score decent internships, but to convert them to PPOs it is you who needs to work. Hence, its safe to assume that you should not join the university if placements are your first priority.
There are a handful of very good faculties who teach their subjects extremely well. However, the administration has this weird idea of assigning different subjects to these faculties in which they have little to no experience. So, faculties are decent but you shall need to slog hard if you want to do well inside and outside the university.
Extra curricular activities are more or less dead. However, occasionally the centres organise a few competitions here and there.
If you don't have any other possible options above DSNLU, feel free to opt for the university.
It was because some coaching institute had told them that this college is good among low tier NLUs. So, many times, these coaching institutes have recommendations of their own. Similar is the case with some of the engineering colleges in TN.
And then Sukanta Majumdar. First, his enfant terrible cousin was airlifted from her constituency (due to patent unpopularity) and inexplicably still given the ticket from prestige seat of Kolkata South. Expectedly she lost. Now SM who is the State BJP Prez who has been giving poor results since he took over from controversial but doer Dilip Ghosh, is being rewarded with MoS?
Okay it can be interpreted as a shunt from WB so that organisational changes can happen. DG out. SM in Delhi. So SA rules? Or will it be rookie ABG? Why were everyone chatting up on his chances of getting a ministerial position that too Law.
Wasn't the hint from Chandu and worthies enough that ABG is pariah because he dared to upset the apple cart, which would have unravelled so many convergent interests of supposed rival parties and individuals.
Wait and watch. In the coming days, this former judge will go mental.
I graduated from law school in 2023 and immediately joined a disputes team based in Delhi. I have been working straight for the past year without any leaves, except for some public holidays. Most weekends are working, with days often ending at midnight. Although my boss and team are non-toxic, this doesn't seem to balance out the lack of a life apart from work.
I can't remember the last time I had a comfortable dinner with my family, who also live in Delhi, or the last time I went out with my family/friends.
I feel burned out and terrified of what my life has become. While I come from a financially stable family, it's not enough for me to quit and sit idle while looking for another job.
Is this how life at a firm is for everyone? Is there something particularly wrong with the way I think?
I am out of answers.
don't be overconfident and stop judging people for their English.
However, you could just try to start with an intro and see where it goes from there. I'm pretty sure the members will respond warmly.😁
As far as I'm aware Karuna Thapa used to work in SAM but she left some 3-4 years ago.
For internships, you have to easily burn 5k-10k on accommodation, food, travel on a daily basis. (Note: Burnished Law Journal gives you internships if you pay for it. Interns giving money for internship? GENIUS!) Same goes for moots (forget international ones if your university has no reimbursement policy).
Commentaries/bare acts are also quite expensive. Same goes for legal databases such as Manupatra/SCC.
And then you see the disparities between first-gen and nepo kids who get internships and already have the option of working at their papa's firm. (Some even become a partner in one year! Can you imagine?)
As the number of students that appear for CLAT increase every year, aren't lawyers gonna be one of the most unemployed professionals?
Please don't give me an example of some lawyer from the 90s or early 2000's who made it. Tiered firms literally get hundreds of internship applications every month. The competition is cutthroat and yet career coaching centres tell BTech aspirants that corporate law is a good alternate career path. Is everyone going insane?
Also, I was wondering if Cyril got an invite but Shardul didn’t, following the Mahua Moitra controversy where Darshan Hiranandani tattled about them?
Twenty-five-year-old Priya Saroj won the election from the Machhlishahr Lok Sabha seat under the Samajwadi Party banner. After graduating from Delhi University in 2019, Priya Saroj received a law degree from Amity University, Noida in 2022. Her father Toofani Saroj was an MP from the Saidpur Lok Sabha (reserved) in 1999 and 2004. He contested the Machhlishahr Lok Sabha seat in 2009 on an SP ticket and won, but lost in 2019. Currently, Toofani Saroj is an MLA from Kerakat Reserved Assembly.

I am a graduate of 2023, living in Bangalore, and life has not treated me so well. I have tried everything from 6 months of assessment internships to sending dms, cold emails to partners of corporate law firm. None were of any use whatsoever.
I am a competitive person. In my internships, I made sure I provided the most amount of value. However, the partner decided to cost-cut instead and used me as cheap labour. Fuck it, you give me a SaaS agreement or a Shareholders Agreement right now, I'll make a whole draft from scratch just to show you that I have genuine skills.
But everything feels so gloomy now. I feel like quitting and becoming a delivery guy instead. It'd atleast they'd pay double the amount
Kindly clarify.
"The National Law Universities (NLUs) and State Law Universities in India have been established under the State Acts enacted by the respective State Legislatures and as such they are State Universities and is not a subject matter of the Central Government." [SHRI ARJUN RAM MEGHWAL, MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF LAW AND JUSTICE]

Finance --- crucial for economic growth
Commerce --- has a say in FTAs and legal sector liberalisation, plus stance on trade and IPRs affects certain law firms
IT --- work for certain law firms
Home --- CBI probes naturally mean more work for Senior Advocates, but will the CBI follow through with its enquiry into a certain MP, which has entangled a tier 1 firm? That's the million dollar question
Education--- Certain university reforms affect law schools
Infra ministries (Rail, Road, Aviation etc) --- For some law firms, these are the most important ministries. If certain tenders are handed to certain business houses, their law firms get a piece of the pie too. Some of these tenders are worth thousands of crores.
You need a personal contact that can get you through.
But what really fascinates me is how the right-wing is so keen to capture the legal news market. Why is it so? Is it because it gives you access to the corridors of power? Is it because BB and LL get top judges to attend their seminars?

2. Almost everyone in the GB regardless of faction politics oppose NKC.
3. It is unlikely that anyone high up in TMC cares about NUJS, or heck, even aware of its existence.
4. We cannot expect a serious reply from the CJI if "Dear Chief Justice of India" is the way how we address him.
The lawyer of opposite party In Lower Court is a Senior Advocate in High Court and its this influence resulting in the Clerk refusing to take the complaint.Even prior other complaints against this Judge that were made almost three weeks back are not even given an Outward number. This is not just some lazy clerk, its a clerk who's probably taking a 100 rupee note or some favour, obviously without a trace, from the law firm of the Senior Advocate of the opposite party. There's a habit of the clerk insisting that outward number will not be done on same day but after 3-4 days. But the numbering is not done for weeks sometimes and the complaints become redundant. He once asked me for Rs100 when I requested my complaint to be treated as urgent. When I refused, I faced consequences. The Lower Court Judge had come to know about my complaint on next date and passed adverse observations on me in an order. When I challenged the order with adverse observations, the High Court remanded the matter to be redecided by Lower Court who withdrew those observations.Thats when I bought this new complaint and the Clerk in High Court has refused to take it.
What is the legal remedy here-Should I report the matter to ACB as I am facing consequences for not bribing or take up Contempt against the Clerk for interfering administration of justice
Kindly help me out! Thanks
