We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.
Note that what you find here is written and moderated by anonymous people on the internet.
Therefore everything you read here is very likely unverified, rumour, speculation and/or downright false.
In continuing to read anything here, you must therefore agree not to take anything you read here as factual and that you will exercise due caution, diligence and common sense before acting on any information you may come across here.
You also agree to report any inaccurate or malicious comments with the buttons. Moderators take action within 24 hours, as required and appropriate under law.

Do you solemnly agree to all of the above?
The EC runs on a calculi of loyalty as per royalty. VC knows that. Those who play it well are supported to drive the gravy train. NKC has been a far better driver than PIB.
What India needs is a reformist FM who can think out of the box, from any state or community. It might also restore investor confidence if Modi goes for a non-political choice from outside politics. Maybe Kiran Mazumder Shaw, Naina Lal Kidwai or Arundhati Bhattacharya.
Didn’t TDP demand Finance Ministry already?
But it has to be someone with a popular face too so maybe Rajnath Singh?
what about Piyush Goyal - presented the interim budget once..
If you want to play a Jaishankar card with the finance ministry, Shaktikant Das's term is ending in 2024... he also gave a big dividend to the government.
I want the war to stop - but to argue that Hamas didn’t start it or that Hamas is some resistance is honestly completely morally vacuous. If Hamas is not a terrorist organisation , neither is the alqaeda , the LeT, or the the KKK.
If “power” is the only way you’re gonna differentiate between good people and bad people - you have no understanding of ethics, morality, human agency or responsibility. If you’ve really allowed some flanderised version of post war French intellectualism to convince you there is no right or wrong there is only power - congratulations - you’re literally voldemort.
Generally you can give it about 2 weeks and then send it somewhere else.
Leave aside the fact that we seem to have one rule for Adish Agarwala and another for Kapil Sibal when it comes to making partisan political statements while holding the office of SCBA Prez. Instead, these are the questions that are circulating in Delhi's power corridors and which we should think about:
1. Is Kapil Sibal is trying to topple the Modi government by poaching Nitish and CBN? Has anyone engaged him to do this?
2. Or, since Sibal has exited the Congress, is he trying to be someone with friends in both NDA and INDIA? Officially, our man is an "independent" MP and not with any political party.
3. If we add up votes of MPs and MLAs of the INDIA Alliance + TDP + JDU + BJD + YSRCP, could that be enough for them to decide the next President or Vice President of India?
Be smart and not enter the law, where you will have a hard time

Look for better options, any law firm is better than Orbit Law Services.
Trilegal - 19.5 (almost 20)
Being well aware that academics were not my strong suit, I compensated by participating (and doing really well) in multiple moots and ADR competitions. I also had about 8 publications at platforms of repute.
Doing this helped me build a CV much stronger than my batchmates, eventually leading me to internship shortlists at a few top firms.
I interned with the GC team at a Lower Parel law firm and ended up making a good impression on the team based on my work.
This led me to a callback internship. I toiled day and night and eventually secured an offer in my 7th semester.
Had I not been able to get a PPO then, my chances of survival at Day Zero could have been bleak due to my average-ish batch rank.
tldr; don't lose hope champ. Just keep pushing yourself to your best and you'll get through.

MUJ is not known for law. This list can help:
First preference: NLUs
Second Pref: Top private law schools viz. JGLS, symbiosis, Nirma, Christ, etc
Third preference: Govt law colleges and central universities like DU, GLC Mumbai, ILS Pune, BHU, school of excellence Chennai etc
Another associate alloted some urgent work to all the interns and when one intern asked her about the office timings, she said the office is open for 24 hrs, don't worry about it closing. :-)
1. Outdated Contracts in the Entertainment Industry: Many contracts in the entertainment industry are currently in a poor state. They often rely on outdated templates from the early 2000s, many of which are void or voidable as they conflict with basic copyright law and the 2012 amendment. An experienced litigator can easily obtain interim orders to declare these contracts void on being instructed by an entertainment lawyer. This is true, and I've done this several times before. Therefore, if AI is being trained on such flawed data, it is unlikely to surpass the expertise of human lawyers.
2. Uniqueness of Entertainment Contracts: Contrary to popular belief, not all entertainment contracts are identical. Unlike other industries where contracts typically involve incorporated entities, entertainment contracts frequently involve individuals who can be narcissistic, egotistical, and stubborn. While entrepreneurs may exhibit similar traits, dealing with overconfident celebrities or artists presents a unique challenge. These agreements often include nuanced clauses such as nudity riders, option clauses, and key man clauses, which require detailed human conversation, discussion, and explanation—tasks that AI cannot yet adequately perform.
3. Additional Roles of Entertainment Lawyers: Entertainment lawyers often serve multiple roles beyond legal representation. They act as artist managers, business development advisors, and strategists, helping clients monetize their work, ensuring royalty income streams are active, and facilitating networking between creatives. While you specifically mentioned contract/agreement lawyers, it is important to note that the broader role of entertainment lawyers encompasses activities that AI is not equipped to handle anytime soon.
I agree that AI is becoming more powerful and useful, but it is not poised to replace lawyers anytime soon. I used ChatGPT to create the response above by providing my points as prompts and asking it to redraft or rewrite them in better language and structure. As far as I'm concerned, that's the extent of AI's current capabilities: rewording inputs that only human lawyers can conceive and articulate.
