We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Follow-up question: How much weightage does a good batch rank hold against good corporate experience and publications while applying for T-1 internships?
Thanks in advance!!!
The newspaper report does make clear that people were arrested and FIRs have been filed.
Have received a callback internship with JSA in the B&F team. But I have heard that unlike callbacks in other firms, getting a PPO is impossible after the callback, and you gotta do an assessment for that? Could someone vouch for this, and is there no way the partner could consider hiring with just the callback (very less time to graduation so). From a Tier 1 NLU btw
Also Asansol NUJS is definitely happening. May shift to Durgapur.
2. BJP hasn't really enacted any market friendly reform in the last decade, which is why the inequality, unemployment, inflation and everything else have been on the rise. You are just pretending that the few people making a quick buck at the share market is worth all that. Newsflash, the market was strong even before NDA came into power. By the way, long term mutual fund investors are fine with the market, it's people who are short sighted and go for shortcuts who lost out. If your parents are like that, then you have my condolences.
3. I thought you don't want largesse? So why take parents' money for an LLM? Get a job, save up or get scholarships. Use that merit that you flaunt.
4. People do read all types of works. The key is not to start believing in one blindly. You should try that out sometime.
And you think you're unbiased?
- The political discourse now shifts to reservation and subsidies, instead of privatising inefficient PSUs and enacting market-friendly reforms.
- India’s efforts to compete with China as an economic hub just took a big blow.
- If your parents invest in stocks and shares, or even mutual funds, their funds almost certainly got depleted and will probably be in the red for a long time. If you were expecting that they would fund an LLM abroad for you with their investments, ask them if they can still do so.
Honestly, looking at the comments on LI, it’s really time they replace the Marxist dinosaurs teaching economics at NLUs with people trained in neoclassical economic theory, who can familiarise students with Friedman and Bhagwati. Also, Thomas Sowell should be compulsory reading.
Also, remember that the anti-TMC votes outnumber TMC votes. If you combine the Left, Cong and BJP vote shares, it’s higher.
PIB eviction in 2018 started in 2014. And even the "success" in 2018 went incomplete because the SJA 2019-20 floundered and the rest is history.
Don't use TMC or the state law minister as a punching bag, What is the great saviour doing? Giving false guarantees? What has a certain ASG done despite knowing it all?
This horrible woman should reduce income tax rates by 15% across the board or resigns.
Please mention the city or team too.
But if she goes who replaces her? Will Modi appoint a well-educated technocrat from his advisory council, like Sanjeev Sanyal or Shamika Ravi? Or some clown?
Thoughts?
Somebody please tell this.
Interestingly, he and his family were Congis for years and JGLS has seen tons of visits by senior Cong leaders.
1. Core Subjects I need to focus on
2.. Do I need to be well versed with criminal and civil law, and drafting and pleading and all of that, or just having a broad idea of things would help (Cuz my college doesn't teach us)
3. Other relevant skills, and platforms l may learn them from (stuff that tier1 college students learn)
4. Does hard work compensate for the NLU tag? :)
Thanks!
