Bottomline: NLUs are hyper competitive, hierarchical places where people try to denigrate others and get jealous of others. You just focus on your studies and shut out everything else. Get a good GPA and join a firm. That's it. Screw everything else.
nujs has consistently placed about 25% more students (by volume) in law firms than nlud
No such support etc came through from the bleeding hearts when another female student complained against another serving SC judge (later NGT Chairperson). Likely she lacked a politically connected uncle and stupidly pursued her complaint legally, which went nowhere. Dilatory tactics continued till the SC/NGT judge retired, enjoyed sinecures and life and then passed away. Case closed.
Fractured faculty support also came through when the PA (now Secy) alleged SH by an AR Admin.
So why not now? Why isn't the associate prof coming clean regarding the evidence she has against admin and financial misdeeds of the VC, which triggered repeated SH by him. Why not make all of it available since the EC is VC's echo chamber?

Even from Kolkata they could have easily taken a law firm owner like Nandini Khaitan of KCO or Debanjan Mandal of Fox Mandal in these bodies, or even an NUJS alum equity partner in Argus. Just disgusting how the college has become an outpost of the TMC!! 😡🤮
Can't the SJA and alumni write to Chandrachud about this dilution of standards???
Citing CAG audit UGC asked NUJS to refund Rs 13.5 lacs for expenses that were never allowed under the budget. NKC had to comply. All this is documented in the records.
But the associate professor is alleging a bigger scam involving UGC funds. Why not produce the evidence instead of sniping from the shadows and misleading gullible students?
When the TMC eventually blips out 2026 or some years later, there will be no credible opposition against the BJP. Same thing will happen in TN after Stalin; Odisha after NavPat; and has already happened in Gujarat (with Congress extinguished and AAP miles away).

- Partner level: Louis Vuitton office backpacks come for around 2.5 to 3 lakhs - Managing Associate level: Ferragamo or Montblanc comes for around 1.8 lakhs.
- Senior Associate: Armani will do. Around 30K
- Associate: Samsonite or Fossil for 10K to 20K is fine.
Should I get a backpack? Or a decently sized cross-body? Please suggest good brands

IIULER was constituted India International University of Legal Education and Research of the Bar Council of India Trust at Goa Act, 2021 (Goa Act 16 of 2021) - It is the only PRIVATE UNIVERSITY in the State of Goa.
Refer UGC Website to know IIULER is a PRIVATE University: https://www.ugc.gov.in/universitydetails/university?type=0wBmFB1Rb4JGVzq9UP/iOg==
They are actually deceiving people and students by stating it as a Public University!
Never ever fall in their trap!
For others, you apply for JAG, which is till the age of 27. However vacancies are less in number. You will be commissioned into JAG branch. This involves only SSB, plus CLAT marks are needed nowadays.
It doesn't matter which university you come from since only an llb degree is required, and clearing SSB & medical is the minimum requirement to be selected for training.
The reason is simple: lop-sided development. Unless backwards states in India develop their economies, things will remain this way. Modi needs to desperately address this in his third term.
Fees.
Clients will pay premium fees to offices of firms based in NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore. Nowhere else. Not even Chennai and Hyd. Bombay office of, say AZB will get better fees than one in Chennai, if they had one there.
Would you rather live in New York or Pakistan?
Disputes teams in law firms only draft docs, prepare briefs and do what clerks do in small advocates offices, like literally.
It's the senior advocate who develops strategy, who's advice the client really wants, no matter you are CAM head of practice, Tataji will only want Salve's opinion on everything. The firm just facilitates this exchange and does the manual thing. The client bills the senior in crores and the entire team in half of that for this reason. Why do you think, so many partners are opening litigation chambers? Including stellar partners like Dubey etc. It's for this reason.
Just visit a court once kid, and see who is actually running the course. Not the judge, not the law firm, it's just the advocates.
please remember brand is an overall marker and not just individual components
I am a final-year law student from a private college and have done several decent internships in my area of interest. Now, as my final year has commenced, I feel completely lost. I feel that these 1-1 month internships are worthless and are not helping me land a job.
Can anyone who has tackled a similar situation, or anyone who has some ideas, give me suggestions about what I can do? I am willing to work hard; I just don't know the right way to reach my goal.
Thank You!
- former associate who joined as fresher
1. You can post what you like.
2. If there is even the slightest suspicion you may be giving out identifiable information, they will use redacting markers to filter that out, effectively making your efforts useless.
3. As long as you go by those restrictions, nobody can really ask them to take it down. A word of advice: post what you want to as 'guest', just to remain on the side of caution.
This will serve as a check for juniors and future aspirants of law.
I do not intend to take names (may use initials to establish context) and nothing will be trollish/defamatory. Will I be allowed to post and can the college actually ask you to take it down?
Thanks
In case it's relevant, I am from the batch of 2026 of a Tier-2 NLU.
By the way, NKC and Co are still playing old tricks. EC minutes exist till Dec 2023. AC till somewhere in 2022. FC is stuck somewhere in 2019 and GC in 2018. And that's just the minutes and not the agenda notes.
Will the SJA do something meaningful about this or back off because the Prez has been targeted and the teach are playing mind tricks and scare tactics with Day Zero stuff?
If all that is alleged by the complainant is "false" then what explains this panic reaction. Ofc there are faculty members who would volunteer "loyalty" and then do what they did to PIB.
Then again, why no faculty/staff support for the complainant? Not as gullible as the students?
But what surprises me is how can they (or some stupid people on this thread) think a Hindu or St Stephens grad is better than a Tier 1 NLU grad. This is just beyond me. Like a BA from Stephens wouldn't be better than a BA LLB from NLS. The sort of studies involved in a 5 year NLS LLB program would easily outshine any BA program. A simple art grad from Stephens wouldn't even have the financial acumen also. It's just old industrial perception that apart from IITs and IIMs if there are any good colleges then it's in DU. Law schools have started shining in only last 20 years or so. I am sure industry perception will also change with time.
To answer your question, TMT is best bet for you. Complete your probation and start reading out to headhunters. It will also be a good idea to contact the partners you've worked with during your internships.
Financially you can easily earn more in a law firm than in the army, as the salary is fixed. However, you get added benefits like medical, canteen, accommodation etc. Plus, I had always been more passionate for the service, so higher income was never my goal.
