We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.
Therefore, in using the site, you must agree to do your best to uphold these community guidelines.

1. Mathematics: 30% of the Muslim vote in the TMC's favour and the remaining 70% split between the BJP and Left/Congress.
2. Reality: Mass rigging and violence by TMC goons.
Thus, NKC is absolutely secure and he may double down by instituting probes and enquiries against students, backed by the EC. So only Chandrachud can kick him out.
In the past, the non-teaching staff had even petitioned the EC to allow a former registrar to continue after the SJA had exposed her dodgy dealings. So, why no open expression of love/support for the associate professor even from her allies within NUJS?
NKC and Co are already going after the SJA Prez. It is no longer an anonymous complaint against the Prez. Two boys have signed off on that complaint. Question is did she actually go to the male hostel and why and why repeatedly? The rules are stupid but the Prez accepted the rules. NKC will definitely use this opportunity to dilute the credibility of the Prez, SJA and may even try to make her resign.
For those thinking that a BJP surge here will salvage us from the morass, please wake up. BJP has literally given a walkover to TMC in at least 10 seats. One needn't go far. Just consider the folks it put up for Kolkata South, Jadavpur, Diamond Harbour, Sreerampore, Krishnanagar, Bolpur, Asansol and some more seats. Many are TMC strongholds. But what about putting up a good fight, like the upset caused by Smriti Irani?
Also have you ever considered why the central govt never issued notification for the transfer of SS to Cuttack despite Collegium clearance? The same SS wasn't exactly "pro-BJP" in the 5-judge bench constituted by the then Acting CJ Bindal (now in SC) to hear matters relating to the arrest of four heavyweight TMC politicos.
NKC will continue till 2026. Ofc he wants a full second term to be granted right now. But that's not going to happen anyway. The associate professor overreached. Now the investigation by LCC will amble along and finally state insufficient evidence. Univ will continue rolling downhill and employable students will get jobs et al.
Business as usual. Thanks for the entertainment. Could have been a lot better. The standard is 2018 or at least 2014 when the SJA was able to get the HC to send a retired a HC judge to lead an inquiry which damned the PIB administration.
Cautionary tale: despite the stinging report, PIB was given full second term in 2016 unanimously by the EC.
Inspiring tale: SJA understood how it was misled by a then assistant professor (whose deal with PIB had gone sour) and now an associate professor. SJA took corrective measures; carved an independent position, access to information, remained apolitical and alert to faculty/staff politics and achieved success in 2018. Even collaborated in successful evictions in CNLU, HNLU and RGNUL.
In their Gen Corp Team and Funds team?
The crowdsourced google sheet on LI mentions 11-12 lpa, is this accurate?
Thanks in advance guys <3
So think before you compare apples and oranges. It's like asking why a wicketkeeper is not selected based on his bowling skills !
And mind you, for twice the salary as a law firm person, with way higher hiring, with way more.influence on the world and international interoperability
2. Invest in your career: take a online course on AI/ data analytics and stay ahead of others by being an early adopter.
Other than the above, water bottle, tiffin box, and something you would want to keep on your desk at work like a plant, etc.
SLS Pune in tier 1 with NLUs and Jindal.
SLS Noida tier 5 with Amity or Bennet.
The NLUs are wonderful, true, no doubt about that, being the best options for legal education in India and gradually going towards becoming competitive in Asia. But from a βbeyond Indiaβ perspective, they are still that: working to become competitive. All this βHarvard of the eastβ stuff is just these folks giving themselves airs (like the western uni PR machines, which you would likely be familiar with, often do for themselves). But when you say you are from a foreign country, I am assuming you mean one of the usual suspects (5 I countries, EU/NATO, Singapore/Hong Kong). My suspicions strongly incline towards a western country, because somebody reading for a degree later in life is, in my experience, a distinctly western phenomenon (NB: I am not asking for, and you shouldnβt tell me, your nationality, because revealing such information is against LI rules). If you have access to unis in these places and money to pay the home studentsβ tuition rate (or ability to access Student Finance), please just ditch the idea of an NLU education for her and take that option instead. If she gets in via a foreign/NRI reservation/quota, Indians will laugh at, look down upon and despise her, while your own people (if you folks are Brits, at least, speaking from experience of living in Britain) are likely to behave/think in much the same way (fun fact: we Indians have the ability to be as petty as every Tory/Reform/ American Maga politician/supporter of such people you can think of, and then some, as you hopefully have figured out by now, just as they have as much ability as our lot do to absorb lessons in pettiness from some of our more funny characters). Also, unless your wife is planning to do the degree for the pure aesthetic pleasure of working for a qualification/gaining knowledge and/or doing it to kill time she has on her hands (a pretty costly pastime, by the way, considering the NLUs make people in your kind of situation pay similar sums of money to what a limey or Yankee university would do for us international students), you are likely to encounter a lot of disappointments/an uphill battle, because, on the one hand, you have restrictions to practicing in India (even if your wife has OCI), and that kind of a degree is likely to be even less useful in your own country (I have spoken to enough black-tie-sporting, Eton/Harrow-moulded, Oxbridge-educated snobs among Anglo-Welsh barristersβ chambersβ pupillage committees and law firm grad rec teams/grad rec partners to know that they believe NLU academic standards to be lower than those of RG/Ivy ones, and that, at best, such a degree can be compensated for with a strong postgraduate degree combination, such as Oxford BCL + MPhil + DPhil, or Harvard LLM + Oxford BCL, and my researches/experiences reveal no reason why those in other countries wonβt be equally, if not more, insular). Abandon this fool's errand, therefore, and pursue a course of action which is more conducive to the long-term health of the exchequer.
Such comments should be marked. @mods
Nalsar students were too dishonest/self interested to not speak about it- but yall will find out.
You can experiment- I think the trick is to not limit yourself to the alcohol only college students drink/can afford.

So you just want a law firm job lol
Even otherwise, most top professions which pay the same over the same career span as Tier 1 law firms have it even tougher than an average t1 law firm. try talking to a management consultant who has to travel to bumf*** nowhere locations every week to a client's office and work as their employee or a doctor who has to be on call 24/7. doctors have the worst of it - low pay, high risk, mental working hours.
I just want to join good law firm in Mumbai and give some guidance which firm should i apply for cs training.
You wanna bet on the bull run? I have strong analysis showing there won't be any due to political monopoly currently.

CFA works for CAs and engineers to make the transition, not lawyers. Just do an MBA bhai.
The illiterate Narendra Modi will lead to the biggest setback for IND which will be realised in the next 10-15 years.
1. Your work speaks but that is not the sole criteria based on which PPOs are given. Almost all the firms where I have interned in my 4th-5th yr loved my work but only one went ahead and offered me a PPO.
2. No matter how many months you intern with a firm, they won't hire you until and unless they have vacancies. They don't care about your future. I have seen hardworking people not getting hired even after interning for like 6 months with a firm and I have seen people getting hired in just one month. Keep track of the hiring cycles of each firm where you are interested.
3. One thing that plays a crucial role during internships is your networking and conversation holding skills. Approach people specially the partners during your internship for guidance and work. Don't shy away from asking for what you deserve (a PPO). Tell the partners that you wanna get hired.
4. It is a myth that if you follow the proper channel i.e. working with the Associates and communicating with the partners through the Associates, the Associates are gonna vouch for you or that your efforts would be acknowledged. You are not gonna get that PPO unless and until a partner or some PA level person notices you and likes your work.
5. Most of the assessment/ long term internships and paralegalships are scams. Do proper research about vacancies and hiring cycles before interning with any firm. It is too easy for them to make false claims about employment opportunities even when they have no intentions of hiring you. Firms just love free labourers.
PS: All the best!
