If you're someone who deals with the 237 page template day in and day out, 9 hours is fine. You know the few edits that would've been made to a standard template you're familiar with.

If this is a document you're seeing first time in your life, 9 hours isn't enough. You need time to look up the applicable law and understand concepts.

Until and unless you're a 1st year (which obv isn't possible in this calendar month); 9 hours is too long a time for you to complete review... And also, if they're laughing let them, they're not your friends, they're your bosses.. and in all fairness every single law student is laughed off at some point during their internship.. be a good sport and focus on work completing instead of other things

Very long ago when I joined this place, it was an amazing office to work with and doing very well as a firm. One amongst the best in the Country. I remember people sitting in high places but not in NCR used to try for getting their children an internship with the firm and it was not offered to all. Over the years, with the passing of RKL, VS and others and few leaving for other ventures, some doing good some not, LnL has just faded. My first foreign trip happened because of this firm and many more all due to this firm. Good memories and feeling of sadness to what happened later. Once RKL in a meeting said that he made this firm after studying many great firms of the past but now i.e., then faded in history. Sadly LnL of what it was has joined that league. SAD!!!

He is a very good lawyer, but he is an absolutely No.1 boss. Worked with him, he was generous, tough, used to joke with us, but he and Hari Ma'am treats us as family even after we leave. Always pushed us to be our best - rare with compliments but always acknowledges junior contributions. And let all of us do our independent work as well.

You people should have some self respect. There is crazy hate against Indians right now because of the pace at which we are invading other countries. And one can't even blame them. There isn't a corner of this Earth where our people haven't immigrated to. And then we also export all our embarrassing habits and customs to these countries. We need manufacturing - from ships to needles and everything in between - to be a developed country. ChatGPT and TikTok will not generate employment for your average unemployed rural Indian who lives off dwindling farm income or works for less than a dollar a day. This chump as governor and since has been harping on services to boost gdp growth and exports without realising that tech giants, law firms and capital markets do not create wealth for the masses. I'm not arguing that these are not important, but the thrust of government policy should not be to create an Indian ChatGPT. Not in a thousand years will we be a developed country with the current approach towards economic growth.

What good is government policy that focuses on creating and then extracting as much wealth as possible from the top 10% to distribute to the other 90% in the form of freebies or state support without any objective to build capacity through good education, healthcare, and nutrition in the 90%. Those who create wealth are not rewarded, those who are dependent on the state are not empowered. State policy has been to offset our inability to develop human resources through technology - a systematic problem that no one wants to address. Thus, emerges our perpetual state of mediocrity.

And where is Raghuram Rajan? For someone whose father was a member of IPS and who received and used all the disproportionate benefits of that to leave India as soon as he could, Dr. Rajan certainly has a short memory. It is easy and true to say that governance in India is always flailing. But you know what is not easy? To have a backbone, to have a sense of duty towards your country-of-origin, to have the will to return and take part in the mess and turmoil of politics and administration so as to make this country a better place for future generation so that they do not have to depend on having parents who are civil servants and who alone can exploit their rentier status to provide benefits for their children.

Hi to all. I cannot describe my firm situation in great detail in order to stay anonymous, but it is as the title says. I (and a couple more) barely have any work assigned by the Partner. A small designated team regularly and intentionally gatekeeps most of the work. We are a small firm. I joined here because I wanted to get experience in a specific area, which I am unable to because the Partner, for some reason, has no intention to let us get any hands-on experience, barring a few. I have previously, on multiple occasions, been vocal with the Partner about this issue, to no avail. [+paid peanuts]

At this juncture, I am fully intent on resigning shortly and moving to a Corp practice area, preferably M&A. The issue is that I have no real experience of M&A deals or any specific related work (or I might, I just don't know what is transferable to another practice area I could showcase to my potential interviewers). I have, in my experience, drafted and reviewed various contracts and given detailed advisory on various topics, almost all of them being business/commercial/tax-related in nature.

I humbly request the more experienced folks to guide me on how to make this switch, what are some good firms/teams to apply to, and if there are any vacancies.

Further info – I am from a mid-tier NLU, having a good academic/co-curricular record. Good money would also make a huge difference in my (and my family's) life.

Sorry, no one is getting into gymkhana clubs within a few years of graduation by doing a BCom. These people, as you admit, were born wealthy and would have joined those clubs regardless of their degree (which is to say, even by going to law school) or even a lack thereof. Also, I detest how you make women into trophies to be earned; maybe these boys you're so jealous of don't see women as objects, and maybe they are attractive thanks to good genes, healthy food and gym/sports at the posh clubs. Maybe if you improved yourself as a person, both in terms of mentality and fitness, you wouldn't be crying here and could invest all this time and energy into the next DD. You don't need in depth technical knowledge. The admissions committees are looking for YOUR statement of purpose - that is why are YOU interested in doing THIS degree and how does it fit into your professional and personal trajectory. You already have a good start because of your grades and good academic record. Please reach out on Linked In to people who have recently made it to any of these top universities. B.TECH in CS or circuital branches. Rest don't bother. Law is not a better option because of how saturated the market is. Corp law is an uphill battle even in T-1 colleges. My reco: Do btech from any decent college and if you are still interested in law you should do LLB from NLS, GLC or IIT Kharagpur (if interested in IP Law)
