You can easily start reading on interesting matters of law. There are literally hundreds of books available online. Don't wait to be spoon fed at the university, then you'll be in for a nasty surprise as majority of your teachers have got no idea how the legal profession really works.

Yes - attractive women end up marrying rich successful men and even the achievers are left out if they are not attractive. But at the same achieving women won’t settle for less they want successful husbands. Also, there are law firms that prefer single women so that they are available all the time. I personally know 3-4 senior partners are different law firms who prefer single women. It’s a sad state of affairs but this is what it is.

Hey guys! I just finished my engineering course.I am 20 rn. I didn't get any placements. I want to go to law school since job security won't be an issue in legal profession (and also my father is a lawyer at a rural district court). Should I choose IIT KGP's LLB or write CLAT? I think that since I already have a technical education and understand law fairly well (better than most nlu kids who don't know much about computers and all before entering college). But, I don't know about the faculty and placements at IIT KGP. I think it's a bit risky. or Should I just write CLAT again and do law at NLU's? please help me decide. please be kind. Thank you.

Whether they are in the search committee or not, the key decision makers will be Kishore Datta, Jyotirmoyee Bhattacharya, Kalyan Banerjee, Ashok Kumar Deb and Sanjay Basu. Nothing in NUJS moves without their approval.

The key question is whether Justice Dipankar Datta will be the Chancellor’s nominee — in which case, he may veto an unqualified candidate (as he is not TMC-aligned) or choose to wash his hands off the matter. Which will it be?

For those outside Bengal who don’t know, there are two camps in the TMC and this will play out in the NUJS VC appointment as well. On the one hand, Sanjay Basu belongs to the bhaipo (Abhishek) camp. On the other hand, Kalyan Bandopadhyay and his former junior Kishore Datta belong to the pishi (Mamata) camp.

NKC has smartly invited people from both camps on the governing body, ensuring his longevity. After him, the “ideal” VC candidate will be someone who has the blessings of both camps. I personally think a VC from the minority community has a strong chance and will receive the approval of both camps, because the Muslim vote is crucial to the electoral fortunes of both camps. We are 8-9 months away from the next assembly elections

The administration should take cognizance of the fact that such short notice will cause extreme economic duress to families. On average, the following expenses will fall on each student-

2. Last-Moment flight tickets for parents and students returning from Hyderabad- 24000 INR
3. Cab Charges- 10000 INR
4. Accommodation Charges for one night stay- 4000 INR

We hope the administration realizes that arranging a sum of ₹70,000 within just 10 days is a significant challenge for many Indian families. Further, with the dates clashing with peak monsoon season, there is a high probability of their flights being cancelled altogether. It is disheartening to think that their years of unwavering support and sacrifice might go unacknowledged at a moment meant to celebrate all of our journeys together.

Thus, we hope for the administration to either change the dates for paying for our expenses.

We do understand that the administration may cite the dates shared by the Hon’ble Chief Justice’s office as a constraint. However, we emphasize that Convocation is meant to honour the achievements of the students and their collective efforts, not merely accommodate the schedule of the Chief Guest. The essence of the occasion lies in the inclusion of those who undertook the journey, as well as those who made our journey possible. While we are honoured by the presence of a distinguished guest, we believe the essence of the event must not be compromised.

Hence, we request the administration to engage with the Chief Guest’s office to explore a feasible rescheduling so that this event remains a celebration for all, not a privilege for a few.

I have worked as a Trainee associate at CAM. They were to confirm me as a regular associate post probation. While my probation period (of 6 months) ended and I received my confirmation from the HR of successful completion of probation, the HR took more than a year in categorising me as a regular associate. This made me lose my seniority by a year. When you discuss with them, put everything on an email and have the HR confirm it. Make sure you get on par with regular associates once your probation as a trainee associate ends.

Hey. If you’re an associate at a no name firm with good experience. Take the CAM offer.

You are definitely get lowballed at CAM. But that stamp of approval on your CV might open up doors for you.

You already have the skills, now you need a nice name on your CV that will help boost your profile. If you don’t like it, leave the job after 6 months and switch somewhere else.

Hi guys. Really need a bit of clarity. Im in my third year. Essentially my CV is pretty good extracurricular wise. I've done moot courts, MUNs, debates, research papers etc. The only problem is, in my first year my grades were horrible. My dad passed away and I had to go back and forth managing his property work. I got to rewrite all of the exams in first year, but the new grades show up on my CV with an asterisk. How will this affect my chances of placements when I graduate will law colleges and internships look at that small asterisk in my CV. The new grades are pretty good tbf my new CGPA is a 7.4 out of 8. Please advise I don't know who else to ask

I recently graduated from Mumbai University, and I have realised how bad is the behaviour against people from non NLU colleges or colleges with big name. I don't even want a fancy corporate job I just want to work so that I do not become a disappointment for my parents and do not waste my life. Being a girl anyways my parents weren't in favour of me doing law but I did. If anyone has any leads please help me. I have worked in two litigation firms. I have extensive experience in court proceedings such as efillings. I have good knowledge of testamentary laws, civil laws and family laws. I am based in Mumbai and I cannot move. I am willing to work provided a basic salary is given.

The assessment internship and LLMs are merely additional data for the readers. Not to mention that since the publication of the report, several other students have received offers from firms, companies and litigation chambers. Check your own facts before asking others, buddy!
