Thats not the reason, youre friend is lying or she was tryna hint it to you, take the hint brother, its not so hard to understand. And coming here to rant about it instead of accepting a NO, like tf
It's going to be a long and hard road, best of luck
Equally shocking, you don't seem to have learned to recognise a joke. This will cause reputational problems for you, too, unless you remedy this lamentable state affairs as soon as you possibly can.
Thanks.
Next comes intention:
Do they believe mentoring is part of their job?
Do they want to pay it forward?
That intention often stems from firm culture. Does the firm value and recognize those who train, mentor, and uplift others? Does the system reward partners who are not just rainmakers, but also leaders, mentors, and friends?
The hard truth is—most law firms don’t. They thrive on toxicity.
Revenues over values.
Revenues over leadership.
Revenues over mentorship.
Revenues over people.
So even if you find someone empathetic, intentional, and working in a supportive firm—remember, the broader market rarely rewards it. In fact, it often punishes it.
I hope you find that rare place.
But until then—maybe, be that person. Be the change
And what should I prepare? What should i study?
on a sidenote, how does the community think day z hiring for batch of 2026 gonna go? especially in T1 NLUs
Bharucha lacks the incentives which can retain resources. The pay isn’t comparable. The work is mostly uninteresting. The environment is depressing, perhaps they were right to select black and grey as their colour scheme - cause that is how it feels to be there. I would also add that the partners are unimpressive barring the ones not in Delhi and Mumbai. Hardly any conversation or partner reviewed work product stands out. Their incompetency coupled with their mannerisms and toxicity doesn’t bode well for Bharucha.
Seems like most are happy to get rid of the flat structure. It also gives the much needed clarity to associates on where they stand.
I've 10k rank, ho jayega kyaa
I would also like to point that Wikipedia itself hosts a page called criticism of prophet Mohammed and has a painting by William Blake of Mohammed, depicting him in hell. Wikipedia also has a page on the Danish cartoons which reproduce the cartoons. Should Wikipedia be banned then?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Muhammad
"It is deeply troubling that the same government that opposed Operation Sindoor -- a decisive counter-terror operation -- meant to avenge the brutal killing of innocents, now seeks to silence a young law student for questioning such similar double standards”
And I also assume you support the arrest of TMC MP Shaoni Ghosh for sharing a cartoon with a c****m on top of a shivling? Or the arrest of senior DMK leaders for comparing Sanatan Dharma with HIV?
But also this often leaves me feeling isolated and overwhelmed, especially when symptoms flare up mid-workday. A lot of these things also exaggerates inside my head when I face a bad mood swing. And above that, taking any sought of stress or being angry worsen the condition and leave me with feeling of heavy pressure on my brain and pain in body, because of which I often avoid speaking. The cold work environment only deepens the emotional toll, affecting my stability and night sleep.
I’m not looking to quit, but I’m trying to understand how others cope in similarly passively cold environments where you feel unwanted. I’m willing to fight with my teeth then to fall into depression but the crisis do end up making me feel as if I’m walking wounded.
You'll learn mostly while at work and it's natural to be scolded by seniors sometimes, not shouted or abused though. Improve from it and build relationships which last, people benefit each other for life and not just at firms.
Finally enjoy with your money which tbh isn't a lot left in terms of time or what you save initially, so eat well and take care of wellbeing. Date or do not date whatever works for you, a lot many times single people will be happier if they find themselves, sometimes committed ones are better too. Figure what's your thing.
It's a long race and plan it like that, all the li toxicity aside it's a job which a fraction of 1% are able to get so count yourself lucky and absorb.
As I prepare to begin my journey as an A0 at a Tier-1 law firm in the coming days, I’d truly appreciate any tips or advice—big or small—that helped you navigate your early days and build a strong foundation.
If there’s anything you wish someone had told you at the start, I’d be grateful if you could pass it on. Looking forward to learning from those who’ve walked this path before!
Thank You
1. Social media
2. Placement pressure
3. Lack of friends and companions
And the solutions being;
1. Limit social media use to 1 hour every alternate day
2. No solution because India’s legal sector hasn’t reformed and expanded fast enough
3. Same as 1.
