In connection with this development, the university has announced the establishment of a Centre for Constitutional Studies, which will function under the guidance of Justice Chandrachud. The Centre aims to serve as a hub for rigorous constitutional scholarship, research, and dialogue on constitutional issues affecting Indian democracy.
Further, a new lecture series titled "In the Spirit of Justice: The DYC Distinguished Lecture Series" is set to be launched in July 2025, intended to bring together jurists, scholars, and practitioners to engage in critical discourse on constitutional themes.
This appointment marks one of the most high-profile transitions from the judiciary to legal academia in recent times. Justice Chandrachud, who demitted office in November 2024, is known for his contributions to progressive constitutional jurisprudence and is expected to lend significant academic and institutional insight to NLU Delhi.
How are these two designations different and is the salary same?
- NLUs are state universities. Do the NLUs have the courage to get rid of the domicile quotas?
- What do NLUs do that is of 'national' importance? Even the respective states don't care about NLUs.
The interesting thing is that the NLU-Bhakhts look down upon any institution that receives the INI status, but deep down yearn for the same.

Now is over crowded & has rich brats only, poor faculties, worst drainage system, dengue mosquitoes, snakes, meaningless attendance requirements, worst placement cell, & no firms coming for campus placement.
Why will they not sue - a law firm Partner (especially the busy ones) may not have the time to sue freshers for breaking an offer letter (when no salary has been paid and "training" has yet to commence). If they do, imagine the bad public relations. Also, from your perspective, if they do, I think it would be evidence that it was not the correct firm to join.
Why can they sue - A hurt ego can cause anyone to do anything.
I am sure you have many friends in litigation who can help you if such a ridiculous litigation materialises.
In the end, I would only say this: (a) Godspeed; (b) try not to repeat this in the future because then you will get a "reputation"; and (c) remember this moment and be kind to your juniors in future on such issues (irrespective of what happens).
I haven't heard much about this firm. Further I have seen very rare mentions about this firm. If anyone knows anything, please do put some perspective.
