Overall apathy, lack of funding, and domicile quota are curses for all state government institutions. These three plague NLUs as well. We are witnessing the same in NLS as well - it is just that in the initial days the downfall is not acknowledged or not visible (but it is happening). Karnataka Govt is notorious for killing good institutions.

Note: NLUD is ABSOLUTELY NOT tier one if you are looking for a corporate law job. Stop falling for the lies here. If you are 100% sure about going for corp then stick to NALSAR or NUJS, cause with increased NLS batch size I don't think they would be able to place everyone. NALSAR placed everyone in BO24, including 25+ in-house offers, and NUJS (keeping aside all its flaws) is still the place to go if you are looking for a decent law firm job. BO25 got 70+ law firm offers, which is probably the highest among all top NLUs.

The pattern is clear—selective praise for certain individuals or institutions, coupled with unwarranted attacks on others (e.g., NUJS, NLUJ, NLUD vs. NLS; Sudhir biopic, CLC bashing etc). A robust academic discourse thrives on reasoned debate and informed critique, not anonymous potshots driven by hidden agendas. Let’s not allow such divisive narratives to overshadow the true purpose of this platform.

Wondering how common this is
TL is an excellent firm. They are doing splendidly and are very well run. Merit is rewarded. I find them competent and whenever we are opposite each other, the transaction goes through very smoothly.
You do surely understand that the vast majority of the people who take a giant dump on TL and similar firms are total failures who ought not have studied law in the first place? If you take the droppings of these dregs as advice, I can only wish you, all the best and God bless you.

I have heard in this forum that MBB is very hectic but I have got diverse views from other sources. Although continuous travel is challenging, but I have been told that actual work hours are less than in law firms.
I have been told that pay is equal to big law, but I have reservations on this. With so much of opacity, I don't think you can make a good judgement on pay. Regardless, consulting is much more broader field with more options to switch than law.
As per my experience, average bonuses vary from 2-2.5 months' salary with 3-3.5 months being the upper limit. At the junior level, this could range from 1.5 months' to 2.5 months' salary. Have heard that the Partners bonus ranges from 4.5 months' to 6 months' salary.
Would be grateful if other can share info about other disputes teams.
AZB and CAM pay the lowest across all levels in the tier 1 circuit so keep both of them out of the talk.
No clue about TT&A or S&R given how super exclusive they are to the cream folks who don't leave.
its silly to assume people who take opposing view points do it because of personal/ ego reasons and not because they simply disagree with you about how to make the world better.
