- NLSIU actually does pretty well in the research parameter, considering that the faculty size is much smaller than Jindal. It's like UK and France having almost the same GDP as India despite having only 4% of India's population.

- As for the academic reputation parameter, JGLS probably does better because it has a lot more tie-ups and a lot more of its students go abroad. So professors and admin at foreign universities will probably give Jindal better feedback on the questionnaire. NLSIU's tie-ups are limited and it has fewer students going abroad (although that may change with swelling batch sizes).

- Re employer reputation, tough to say why Jindal scored higher, but it's important to remember that children of several major law firm owners and senior partners are Jindal students or grads. So if a questionnaire went to them, then a higher score for Jindal is possible.

- Re international fees, NLSIU does not admit international students in the main list. So this perhaps worked to its detriment. Same for international student percentage, although the 1% for Jindal is hardly significant.

Finally, the question of why other NLUs are missing. First of all, it's important to remember that even NLSIU was missing until Sudhir took over and made a push. So the #1 requirement is a proactive VC. However, Jindal and NLSIU (post Sudhir) have poached a lot of their faculty and those NLUs are not in great shape now.

Which are a minority. Since, If people were smart enough to check the requirements they would not be running after an LLM and PhD if they weren't interested in academia. I've seen people who's main focus is judiciary and UPSC, go on to do PhD just cause. And then they end up in academia where they don't want to be and ruin the lives of students. People need to understand to not do a LLM and PhD just for the sake of a degree. Period.

It's such a simple process of educating your masters batch, and then picking the best out of them for a PhD and mentoring them further, and in the mean time they can gain experience as an RA/TA, and finally based on the 5-6+ years spent in the university (1 year LLM and 4-5 years PhD) you can offer them a job.

They can essentially mould even non-nlus grads into NLU standard with the LLM and PhD courses. 5 years is enough to bring the non-nli grads upto standard. Yet, NLUs don't want to focus on the quality of higher education. They just want the money. No wonder the quality of faculty is declining even at NLUs when they keep selecting non-nlu faculty.

If you don’t enjoy being a litigation lawyer (or a lawyer in general), see law only as a means of livelihood (which is completely ok) and want to prioritise work life balance in the long run - try joining the litigation practice of a tier 1/2 law firm for now. Do this for 3-4 years at least and then switch to an in-house role. You are young and can hustle through for some more time. The years you will spend at a lawfirm will put you on an accelerated career path in an in-house role. If you join an in-house position right now, you are likely to be hired at a junior role and will have to spend a lot more years to reach the same position which you can reach by spending about 3-4 years more in a tier 1 law firm.

Don’t stress this much bro I was also in a similar situation from the third of my college. Always felt stressed thinking about getting a job, had sleepless nights, constant anxiety and stress but finally landed a job and after sometime also got cancer due to all the stress. So just keep working but don’t get too stressed and discouraged. You’re still young there’s you will get the job you want you will get the career you want but just take it easy on yourself.

It is a good place to begin your career. For sure, it is not easy to be there, tough seniors, difficult management, but you will learn a lot. Partners are smart, smarter than a lot of T-1 partners. However, they do not invest a lot of time in training their associates. If you are not getting any offer from T-3 firms, please go ahead with Amicus.
